Love Island's Liberty Poole, Ben Foden and Paul Gascoigne's son set for Dancing on Ice

Love Island star Liberty Poole has been revealed as the latest celebrity to sign for Dancing On Ice 2022 – along with Ben Foden and Paul Gascoigne’s son.

The reality star might have shot to fame on this year’s series of ITV’s Love Island, but she’ll now be “swapping the sun for ice” as she takes to the ice rink where she’ll demonstrate her dancing skills in a bid to reach the grand final.

Liberty has been announced alongside Rugby star Ben Foden and the son of football legend Paul Gascoigne, Regan.

They have been named as the latest stars to sign for the hit ITV show which will host twelve celebrities in total.

Discussing her entry into the show, Liberty revealed that she already has some ice skating skills up her sleeve as she skates as a hobby, and that she “grew up” watching the show as her mum was a figure skater.

She said: “I grew up watching Dancing On Ice and my mum actually used to be a figure skater.

“I ice skate as a hobby sometimes so I can get around the rink but I can’t do any tricks, no pirouetting or anything so I’m really looking forward to pushing myself and learning as much as I possibly can.

“Not just skating around the ice but actually dancing on ice. Bring it on!”

Rugby star Ben Foden said he’s looking forward to competing on the ice rink as he’s “quite competitive”

Rugby player Ben, who is the ex-husband of The Saturdays singer Una Healy, confessed he’s “quite competitive” so he likes the idea of competing against others even if it’s doing something he’s not necessarily good at.

Upon joining the show, he said: “I used to skate a little when I was a kid. I’d go to ice discos when I was 15, 16 (years old) and you’d always see these kids that could do pirouettes that had a proper dancing background.

“I like the idea of learning a new sport and a new skill. I’m quite competitive as well so I like the challenge of competing against others doing something that I’m not necessarily good at!”

Singer and dancer Regan, who is the son of legendary footballer Paul Gascoigne, confessed that he’s always wanted to do Dancing On Ice.

He said: “Obviously I dance and love dancing but it’s the skill of this. I’ve always wanted to do it. Always! Ever since I was a kid!”

Liberty, Ben and Regan will be joining the likes of Coronation Street legend Sally Dynevor, Happy Mondays star Bez and Paralympic athlete Stef Reid who have all been confirmed for the show.

The show sees each celebrity get paired up with a professional partner before they show off their dancing skills to the panel and the British public, who get to decide on who wins the show.
