Dancing On Ice star Sean Rice’s wife Jodeyne has shared a heartfelt post on Instagram in memory of her late husband who died last weekend aged 49.
The Canadian figure skater took in the ITV show in 2011 and 2012, partnered with newsreader Angela Rippon and ski racer Chemmy Alcott.
He competed in the World Championships with Jodeyne, with whom he shares a daughter.
His cause of death has not yet been announced and his sudden passing has shaken the figure-skating community.
Jodeyne has addressed her husband’s passing online and left a gut-wrenching message on her Instagram profile.
She wrote: “One week ago today you left. So much has changed since you went away. “
“I wish heaven had visiting hours so I could tell you I love you one more time.
“This isn’t goodbye, it’s until we meet again. Love you with all my heart forever and always.”
Sean’s former co-stars from the show left comments of support for Jodeyne in the comments.
Mark Hanretty said: “Sending so much love. Always just a call away,” while Alex Murphy commented: ‘Sending so much love to you and Signey.’
Chloe Madeley, who competed alongside Sean in the 2011 series of Dancing On Ice, wrote: “Sending you so, so, so much love Jodeyne.”
Professional skater Frankie Poultney tweeted about the news: ‘Pro skaters are heartbroken today, we lost a true larger than life great. An epic skater, a husband, father, and my friend of 20 years.”
He continued: “Sean Rice, 20/07/72 – 14/01/22. Gone too soon, but we will Love You For A Thousand Years. All of our thoughts are with Signey and Jodeyne.’
Although the official Dancing On Ice Twitter account shared a statement after his passing, fans were upset that there was no mention of Sean’s passing during the first programme of the new series.
The statement read: “Sean was a wonderful skater and friend to many on the Dancing On Ice team. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up in support of the family Sean has left.
