Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has revealed she was left feeling “disappointed” over early her exit from the show, as she opened up how she deals with negativity and anxiety.
The dancer, 33, was paired up with comedian Robert Webb, 49, in the last series of the popular show – but the pair pulled out over the funnyman’s “ill health”.
Discussing their exit, Dianne went on to explain in a piece in the Daily Mail: “It was disappointing to leave Strictly so early because of [Robert’s] health, but I reminded myself that I was lucky to have a partner.”
The professional dancer also explained how her positive approach helped deal with her early exit from the show, saying she tries to “focus on the things [she has],”.
She also admitted that she has her “fair share of self-doubt and negativity,” as well as anxiety and has felt under more pressure as she has become more successful.
Dianne recently starred as one of the contestants on new BBC show Freeze The Fear with Wim Hof, which sees celebs taking on challenges in the extreme cold, under the watchful eye of Dutch motivational speaker Wim – AKA The Iceman.
She said confronting her anxiety with Wim Hof was “liberating,
Dianne said despite filming finishing months ago, she’s still using some of the techniques she learnt, including the three-minute freezing showers and breathing exercises.
She said: “When we were filming the breathing exercise, I broke down, as I was basically releasing a past trauma. I could feel all my anxiety and fear pouring out in my tears,” she explained.
To tackle nerves or anxiety she will repeat the exercise, saying the method is “incredibly effective”.
Dianne also heaped praise on her partner vlogger Joe Sugg, who found emigrating from Australia “tough,” adding his family and Strictly have been a support network for her.
The dancer and Joe started dating after they were partnered together on Strictly in 2018.
In December 2018 Joe confirmed his romance with Dianne the day after the Strictly final.
Freeze The Fear With Wim Hof continues tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
