Taking to Instagram to announce their happy news, Brian shared an adorable snap of the three and penned: “Please be upstanding for the arrival of our BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER Blake Maria Rose Dowling Gourounlian. Yes people another BDG.”
They added: “Blake was delivered safely on Thursday September 1st at 14:52pm weighting 7lb 4ozs. We @gourounlian are ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY IN LOVE with her & can’t believe she’s here & is ours.”
Brian, who won Big Brother in 2001, went on to thank their unknown donor, saying: “None of this would have been possible without our donor, a woman we have never met or even seen a picture of but has given us the GIFT OF LIFE.”
He added a special mention to Aoife as he gushed: “Now, where do we even start with you @effidy_dowling_ you are a SAINT to us & we will FOREVER be GRATEFUL to you for the REST OF OUR LIVES. Baby Blake can’t wait for her Aunty Aoife to spoil her.”
The reality star also shared a shot from inside the delivery room, with the couple both dressed in scrubs next to Aoife just moments after she had given birth.
Proud dad Arthur said that they have been waiting for this moment their “entire lives” as he said: “MY HEART IS FULL OF JOY. Blake welcome, we have been waiting for you our entire lives. And @effidy_dowling_ you have given us THE world we will forever owe YOU. Merci.”
Brian, who married Arthur in 2015, revealed in June that Aoife was carrying his baby and shared that he had always wanted to be a father.
Speaking on Made by Mammas: The podcast, Brian detailed the couple’s journey and spoke about the moment his sister offered to carry the baby.
“In 2020 at Christmas, Aoife was like, ‘I’m definitely interested in doing this for you,’ and we kind of thought ‘Oh my god, maybe this is something we really need to think about’.”
He added: “I said to Arthur, ‘I’m 44 this year and I said by the age of 45 I just feel I’m going to be too old’ –Arthur’s two years younger than me.”
“She’s single, she’s 32, so you know, so experiencing that whole thing would be an amazing feeling. But then not having the responsibility,” Brian continued.
“So, the way it happened it was so organic, and it was Aoife that initiated these conversations and that was very reassuring for us.”
