The Chase's Bradley Walsh takes brutal swipe at contestant who 'completely bottled it'

The Chase star Bradley Walsh didn’t hold back when he accused one of the contestants of “bottling it” during Friday’s episode (October 21) of the hit gameshow.

The presenter, 62, welcomed Sarah, Finlay, Dave and Nichola into the ITV studio who all tried their luck against today’s chaser Paul Sinha to win some cash.

34-year-old Sarah scooped five grand in the cash builder and in the usual format, turned to her fellow contestants to decide what offer to choose before going head to head with The Sinnerman.

Dave, 73, told the project manager: “You’re only here once Sarah, go for the big one!”

Already picking up on Dave’s comment, the chaser quipped: “Let’s see what Dave’s decision making is like when he’s at the table.”

Next up was Finlay, 21, who secured an impressive seven grand in the first round, with Paul offering him a whopping £35,000 to take a step closer to him.

While Sarah and Nichola assured the language student that the seven was more than good enough, Dave had other ideas as he exclaimed: “Grasp the nettle! Go for the 35!”

When it was Dave’s turn to make the all important decision, he went against what he had been saying to the others as he told Bradley: “I should follow my heart and go for the big one but I’ll stick with the four.”

The final contestant to face the 52-year-old was Nichola who secured seven grand in the cash builder.

Displaying a change of tune, Dave urged the energy administrator: “Go for what you’ve earned! Make it a full team for the last chase.”

Unable to let this one slide, Bradley called out the retired civil servant and accused him of “bottling it.”

“He’s changed his tune hasn’t he all of a sudden,” muttered the former Coronation Street actor before he swiped: “After bottling it out the table he’s completely changed his tune.”

Also not wanting to miss the opportunity to make a dig at Dave, the chaser told Nichola: “Dave changing the tune completely, as swiftly as you play the recorder to Titanic.”
