Dec Donnelly's serious injury on I'm A Celeb trial left him needing intensive treatment

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! stars Ant and Dec have told how they’re unlikely to take on the celebrity cyclone trial ever again – after it injured Dec so badly he was in agony and needed six months of physio.

The fan favourite Bushtucker trial with the final four contestants takes place tonight as they all try to get up a slippery slope and stay in their rightful place with a giant star.

To make it harder, there are wind machines and giant balls and paint bombs to contend with.

But after dozens of fans online were asking if they would do it, show hosts Ant and Dec explained they had taken it on a decade ago but it didn’t all go according to plan.

Ant and Dec admitted they probably won’t give the challenge a go

Ant said: “We’re doing the Celebrity Cyclone today. It’s always fun to do, but it takes a while to do. It takes a long time to get everything set up and get all the paint bombs set up and all the sludge and the slime. Yeah, it takes a long time but it is fun, the most fun.

“Everybody who watches the show always wants to give it a go. We’ve actually done it in the past. We’ve done the trial. We did it for charity years ago, didn’t you pop your shoulder?”

The challenge is a favourite for viewers at home

Dec replied: “Yeah I did. I ended up in physio for six months afterwards. But it was great fun.”

Laughing Ant added: “Fun times though guys, fun times.”

Ten years ago, Ant, 47, and Dec, 47, were seen taking part in a special edition of the Celebrity Cyclone challenge for the Text Santa charity – and Dec did not let on the pain he was in.

Dec was left seriously injured by the challenge

In 2012 instead of being on the sidelines watching, Joe Swash welcomed Ant and Dec took to the trial clearing in order to raise money for charity event Text Santa.

The pair were challenged to raise a mammoth £100,000 for the charity causes, by taking part in the Celebrity Cyclone.

“Each star marker that you reach is worth £25,000, so that’s a total of £100,000 for Text Santa,” the pair were told ahead of the challenge.

They were given just ten minutes to try and get up the slippery hill, managing to win the jackpot money for charity.
