Speculation is growing over the identity of Fawn on The Masked Singer – and armchair detectives reckon they have worked out who is behind the mask.
Each week, the beloved character has taken to the stage alongside several other wacky stars as they battled it out for a place in the grand final.
Fawn, Rhino, Phoenix, Knitting, Jellyfish and Otter all made it through to the next round of the show when it returns next weekend.

The first time Fawn performed, the deer belted out the Beauty and the Beast classic, Tale As Old As Time.
And their most recent rendition of Ironic, the hit single by Alanis Morissette, received a standing ovation from the celebrity detectives.
The sweet character has also given clues away from their outfit and renditions of popular hits – but who is Fawn?
As The Masked Singer continues this weekend, Daily Star takes a look at the celebrities that fans think could be behind the character.
Danni Minogue
Some viewers are certain that former X Factor judge and Aussie babe Danni Minogue is behind the Fawn disguise.
One clue package mentioned “topsy turvy land” and detectives Mo and Rita linked it to Australia.
While Rita guessed Fawn could be Australian songbird Delta Goodem, Mo predicted the character could be Kylie Minogue’s younger sister Dannii.
During Saturday’s episode (January 30) Fawn said that their disguise isn’t the first that they’ve worn.
The star added that she was in the “background” in her early career, prompting Mo to suggest that she was a backup dancer.
Kym Marsh
Coronation Street star Kym Marsh is another celeb that fans think could be behind the mask.
Following the character’s show-stopping rendition of Alanis Morissette’s hit Ironic on January 29, fans rushed to Twitter to claim Fawn’s voice was a giveaway.
They think Fawn is Kym, who played Michelle Connor in the soap from 2006 until 2019, given she was a member of the pop group Hear’Say.
One tweeted: “Another singer #fawn maybe Kym Marsh #MaskedSingerUK.”
A second said: “OMG Fawn is Kym Marsh – Left hearsay and left in the background #MaskedSingerUK.”
Natalie Appleton
Following their first performance on the show, fans were certain Fawn is a famous pop star from a chart-topping girl band.
There was mention of “black coffee” and “sandy” in Fawn’s VT, which could be a nod to the band All Saints and their smash hit single Black Coffee.
As well as the fact that their song Pure Shores was also on the soundtrack of The Beach.
In a riddle after her performance, Fawn said she’d “taken a trip to Wonderland but her name isn’t Alice.”
This immediately landed on the radar of All Saints fans who remembered that the girls supported Take That on their Wonderland tour in 2017.
Convinced it was All Saints star Natalie Appleton behind the Fawn mask, one adamant viewer tweeted: “As a huge All Saints fan I’m pretty sure Fawn is Natalie Appleton.
The voice sounds like her, “black coffee, and the “sandy” clue possibly referring to Pure Shores being on The Beach soundtrack.”
Sheridan Smith
Fawn’s mention of wonderland in the VT also had sofa detectives thinking it could be Sheridan Smith.
After Fawn said: “I’ve visited Wonderland, but my name isn’t Alice”, fans were pointed in the direction of Sheridan as she was the voice of the BBC’s Alice in Wonderland audio book.
They also made a reference to Sandy during one of her clues, and one fan pointed out that Sandy was Sheridan’s character’s name on BBC show Eyes Down.
The Masked Singer UK airs Saturdays on ITV1 and ITVX
