Emmerdale police 'blunder' exposed by angry ITV viewers as vicar Charles gets arrested

Emmerdale viewers were left furious during the latest episode after vicar Charles Anderson was arrested.

During Friday night’s show (March 31), Charles was taken aback when he was callled into questioning by the police regarding Alex Moore’s hit and run.

Alex was brutally mowed down and left for dead on Thursday night when Billy Fletcher purposely ran him over.

With no clues pointing to Billy at the moment, police turned their attentions to Charles who had an altercation with Alex before his dreaded accident.

Given the fact that Charles angrily shoved Alex into his car during their argument, police thought this might link him back to scene of the crime.

Charles was arrested

But furious fans couldn’t believe what they were watching and knew that in reality the police would have done a check on Charles’ vehicle.

Heading over to Twitter, one social media user wrote: “Oh for goodness sake. The damage on Charles’ car looks as though it was caused by a few leaves falling on it, not a body bouncing off of it…”

Another penned: “You really think ED bosses can’t get any worse then they pull a s**t show like this with Charles’ car. No way would pushing someone into a car be in the same league of damage to getting hit at 30,40 mph or more. This is monumentally awful.”

A third chimed: “A slight dent??! IF DC’s Mopey and Dopey do their jobs properly they should have the car checked out and find there are no bits of that no-mark on there..”

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Caught the end of tonight’s episode of #Emmerdale and I’m convinced they need some new detectives at Hotten Police Station…”

Although the police did mention that they would take Charles’ car in for forensics, it didn’t stop the avalanche of fury from fans when he was later arrested.

In Friday’s episode, Alex remained in a critical condition in hospital.

But curious viewers also wanted to find out what happened to the drugs delivery he was planning and why police haven’t looked into this matter too.

Jumping back onto Twitter, an Emmerdale fan asked: “Why no news of the drug delivery driver & van have they been forgotten about? Wouldn’t the guys blood be on Alex as he hadn’t changed.”
