BBC Breakfast’s Roger Johnson was completely taken aback on Sunday morning (April 9) when an unusual and very special guest arrived in the studio.
After hosting the much-loved breakfast programme with Sarah Campbell, the two hosts were joined by a special guest who left them both taking a second look.
For Easter Sunday, the two hosts were joined by a very heavy guest – a 10kg rabbit.

Completely taken aback as the guest arrived on the sofa, Roger exclaimed: “It’s big!” as the rabbit sat next to him.
Sarah then said that Easter Sunday wouldn’t be the same without an Easter Bunny on the sofa, before urging that there was a serious side to the rabbit’s appearance on the show.
Introducing “Jed the giant bunny” to viewers at home, Sarah spoke of how rabbits were a popular pet in lockdown but are now being “abandoned due to the cost of living crisis”.
Speaking to Jed’s owner, Roger explained how the rabbit is not yet fully grown, to which the owner replied that he’s around 9kg and will soon grow to around 10kg.
The expert who joined them in the studio spoke of how the rabbit population has estimated to have grown from one million to one million and a half since lockdown.
She also spoke about how there are not enough “good homes” for rabbits, with “too many” waiting for homes in rescue centres.
Fans were quick to react to the rabbit, with one taking to Twitter to say: “That is a massive bunny rabbit.”
Another added: “Just adorable!”
BBC Breakfast airs everyday from 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
