Bargain Hunt 'chaos' as item disqualified and Tim Weeks 'clashes' with blue team

There was chaos on Saturday’s episode of Bargain Hunt (April 8) as expert Tim Weeks appeared to clashed with the blue team.

The popular BBC programme visited The Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge, where the red and blue teams tried to find the most profitable antiques to take to auction.

Thomas Forrester led the red team, while Tim Weeks led the blue team.

However, one item caused an argument between Tim Weeks and the blue team – and one item was disqualified all together.

Stylist Carys and client relations employee Bonnie made up the blue team, who were tasked with finding an item of vintage clothing.

The pair spent £80 on a set of vintage dresses, but when experts decided that the garments were not vintage at all, the item was disqualified.

This left the blue team £90 out of profit at auction.

More drama was to follow, as the blue team and expert Tim disagreed on another item – this time a set of aeroplane seats.

The seats featured pull-out tables and arm rests and were decorated with grey patterned fabric.

Tim was not convinced by the spot, with the expert heard saying that the item was a “dangerous buy” as “not many people buy this sort of thing”.

However the blue team disagreed, with Carys replying: “I love them. I feel as though it’s a sign that we’re going somewhere hot and we should buy them.”

Their instinct proved right too, as the £35 seats sold for £38 at auction – making a £3 profit.

The blue team made a profit with their final item too after they bought a pair of insect cases for £20, which sold for £22 at auction.

It was the red team who made the biggest profit on the day though, as married couple David and Helen made a £40 profit on two silver salt pots and £5 profit on an ink pot.
