Full Monty legend addresses whether or not cast will get kit off in new Disney+ series

The Full Monty is set to return after 26 years – and the question on everyone’s lips is of course, will the boys go full frontal again.

The lads’ reunion will run as an eight-part TV series on Disney+, kicking off on June 14.

Robert Carlyle – who plays Gaz in the male stripper cult classic – was discussing the now infamous nudity scenes on The One Show and was quizzed on whether there will be a repeat performance.

“That is just not happening at all. It’s alluded to in episode six…does it happen? Maybe? No.”

He also said there were “no doubts” about making the sequel despite being afraid that it could “destroy the memory of the film that was loved by so many people”.

Robert also said that stripping was “terrifying” and an “absolute nightmare”.

The original Full Monty was released in 1997 and followed the lives of a band of unemployed steelworkers in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, who decide to form a strip group to make money.

Despite being a comedy the film touches on issues such as unemployment – especially in Sheffield’s steel trade – fatherhood, depression and homosexuality.

The name comes from the men’s vow to be better than The Chippendales by going “the full monty”.

The cast of the new series will feature some other familiar faces reprising their old characters including Mark Addy (Dave), Lesley Sharp (Jean), Hugo Speer (Guy), Paul Barber (Horse), Steve Huison (Lomper), Wim Snape (Nathan) and Tom Wilkinson (Gerald).

The Full Monty is streaming on Disney+ from June 14
