Emmerdale fans say same thing as Charles’ father arrives after lengthy prison stint

Emmerdale fans all said the same thing as Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) was reunited with his criminal father.

During Thursday’s instalment (June 8) of the ITV soap, Charles was distracted by a mysterious phone call and ended up heading to prison.

With a mixture of dread and annoyance, Charles braced himself outside the high-security prison as a man walked towards him.

As the resident vicar demanded the man stay away from his family, it turned out the former inmate was none other than his father, Victor (Eddie Osei).

Victor has been released from a high-security prison following a lengthy sentence, and fans have been left wondering how he ended up there in the first place.

But others were more distracted by Victor’s voice and headed to social media to compare him to Phil Mitchell.

“Why is this bloke with Charles talking like a Bond villain/Phil Mitchell impressionist?” wrote one viewer.

A second added: “I’m assuming this bloke talking like Phil Mitchell is Charles’s dad.”

Charles was stunned to see his father

“Don’t tell me the brother’s going to end up back at Charles’s house? Sounds like Phil Mitchell,” shared another viewer.

While a fourth chimed in: “Oh hello, Vicar not vicaring but meeting someone who sounds & acts like Phil Mitchell.”

Emmerdale Producer Hannah Cheers promised Victor’s arrival will turn things “upside down” as he forces Charles to face his painful past.

She said: “Victor’s arrival in Emmerdale turns life for the Andersons upside down.

“The brilliant addition of Eddie Osei as Victor has allowed us to learn more about who the Andersons are and we can’t wait for the audience to watch as the drama unfolds.

Victor’s arrival causes trouble for the Andersons

Hannah continued: “While Claudette is confronted by the husband she prayed she’d never see again, Charles has to face up to painful past traumas and he makes no secret of the fact that Victor is not welcome here.”

Eddie Osei added: “I feel privileged to be joining such a great show and I am honoured to be working with the fantastic cast and crew.

“It is very exciting for me to be playing Victor who is such an enigmatic character and who causes the Anderson family so much trouble!”
