Friends icon Matthew Perry’s chilling final Instagram post before tragic death at 54

Friends icon Matthew Perry’s final Instagram post eerily foreshadowed his tragic death at the age of 54, as the star was found dead in his hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home.

The star shared an Instagram post which showed him relaxing in his hot tub, as he shared a picture of himself with headphones in the bubbling water and the view he was facing.

Perry optioned the snap: “Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman,” as tributes have been shared to the post, which had raked in 650,000 likes at the time of writing, as fans rushed to the post to share their devastation.

A third chimed in: “Thank you for your memory Matthew,” as a fourth said: “Gone too soon , travel safe.”

Emergency responders arrived at Perry’s home after receiving a call at 4.07pm about a suspected cardiac arrest, and found the star unconscious in his hot tub.

According to NBC, law enforcement sources claimed that Perry had drowned, and it was treated as a ‘water rescue’.

No drugs were discovered at the scene and there is no indication of foul play.

The Friends’ official Twitter account confirmed the sad news as they posted: “We are devastated to learn of Matthew Perry’s passing. He was a true gift to us all. Our heart goes out to his family, loved ones, and all of his fans.”

His stint on Friends catapulted Perry into superstardom, as the iconic Chandler Bing quickly became known for his sarcastic humour and unlucky love life.

In recent years, he had been lying low and rarely made public appearances after revealing in his memoir he had been secretly battling opioid addiction during his time on Friends.

After an overdose nearly killed him, Perry attended rehab 17 times and had been seen in September 2023 looking in better health.
