Love Island bosses have got a lot of plans for a fiery series – and the contestants’ pasts are going to make that far easier.
The contestants will all know of one another, and in some cases they’ll even know each other very well. As it’s an All Star series, islanders from multiple seasons will be attempting to find love once more.
And while some fans might think it’ll be tame because they’ve done it all before, it’s what has already happened behind closed doors that could make it all the more exciting. Executive producer Mike Spencer told press: “Some of the stories I’ve heard about who has got with who that have not been in the press are wild.

“There are links to the people in the opening line-up that I couldn’t believe. And some of the bombshells coming in have stories to tell.”

The stories that took place outside of filming are going to come to light, with Mike adding he’s “so excited” about it all being aired. He added: “There’s things I don’t know about and I want all these things to come out. If we can tell these stories on camera you aren’t going to want to miss it.”
Bosses have also made sure they’ve picked people who do know each other which will only amplify the drama. Mike said: “We didn’t go out of our way to pick contestants who don’t know each other so they might be more likely to find love, we’ve done the opposite.”

And drama is bound to be coming in thick and fast with exes Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish both in the starting line-up together. The pair broke off their relationship mere days before the final and ultimately opted to leave the show.
As they’re set to reunite on air, a show insider said: “Jake knows he has some making up to do second time round and will have more reason to be on guard as Liberty’s best pal Kaz Kamwi will be by her side. There will be no room for messing up even if he does attempt to recouple with Liberty.”

Liberty stood her ground and ultimately left the villa single, and while this will be her third time trying to find love on the ITV2 dating show, she’s had bad luck so far.
But with new islanders signing up for the gig and some past romances to be brought to the surface, the stars know how to play the game – and things could certainly get messy.
Love Island All Stars kicks off on ITV1, ITV2 and ITVX on Monday, January 15 at 9pm
