Gordon Ramsay is hoping to make a killing on Valentine’s Day by charging couples nearly £3,000 for a slap-up meal.
Diners booking into his swish Michelin-starred restaurant Petrus (corr) by Gordon Ramsay face having to fork out £225-per-person for dinner on the 14th. A Caviar starter is an extra £95 and an “indulgence” wine flight is a whopping £975 – bringing the total to a difficult to chew £1,295.
With a 15% service charge at the eatery in London’s Knightsbridge the price soars to £1,489-a-head. Diners get lobster ravioli, 100-day aged Cumbrian steak, truffled ice cream and a sorbet.

Other wine flights cost £195 and £425. Champers is £20 a glass and a beer £8. High-rollers who really want to treat themselves can sip wine at £1,150-a-glass. Diners get just 125ml.
If that price is hard to swallow Gordon, 57, is offering a glass of the same 2002 vintage for £450 but guests get just 50ml – the equivalent of a double measure of spirits. The eye-wateringly expensive grog is the revered French red Petrus – after which Gordon named his eatery.
He flogs a bottle of the 1982 vintage for £13,500. Though many TripAdvisor reviewers loved the place – describing it as “incredible”, “outstanding” and “wonderful” – some choked at the prices.
Reviewer David wrote: “We were handed a tablet which according to the waiter had 66 pages of wine to choose from (we were only there for dinner and not an overnight stay and yes it did run to 66 pages!).
“The price for a bottle of wine, John Duval Plexus White 2019 was £60.00 which is one of the least expensive on the wine list – too large a mark up on this. As I wanted a beer to quench my thirst before eating I asked what was available.

“They only serve Schiehallion which is great although at £8 per glass a rip off, this is in addition to £6 for a bottle of still water.’’
Another person wrote on the site: “My husband and I have been for many Michelin star meals and we were thoroughly underwhelmed. Whilst the taste of the food was lovely, the portions were so small that without bread in between we would have gone away hungry. Alcohol was ridiculously expensive too.’’
A spokesman for the restaurant had not responded to a request for comment.
