Love Island stars who returned to day job – hairdresser, estate agent and adult site

Despite the potential to earn millions off the back of Love Island, some stars got back to reality pretty sharpish.

ITV’s biggest matchmaking show made stars of a few – the likes of Dani Dyer, Kem Cetinay, Wes Nelson, Maura Higgins and Molly-Mae Hague – but not everyone.

Love Island has just returned with an All Stars cast of hopefuls taking a second shot of love.

While some contestants rose to fame after the show, some found the career high that came afterwards a little shorter. So much so, some went straight back to their day jobs – but which ones?

Paige Thorne – series 8

Paige Thorne made her intentions clear that she always wanted to go back to working as a Paramedic after her stint on the show.

Although she’s confessed she doesn’t work as much as she would like to due to other commitments, she has been picking up shifts since she left the villa.

She recently told OK! Magazine: “I always planned to return to my job after Love Island. I’m on what’s called a bank contract, so I can choose my shifts but I dedicate one day every week to paramedic related work.”

Tyler Cruickshank – series 7

Tyler went back to working as a lawyer

All Star Tyler Cruickshank landed a spot in the Love Island final in 2021, but he still opted to go back to his day job in the long-run.

He studied law but prior to going on Love Island he decided to become an estate agent due to low funds. However, after gaining a bit more cash due to the show, he began a Solicitors Qualifying Exam course so he’ll be able to qualify soon.

Rachel Fenton – Series 2

Rachel spent eight days in the villa then returned to her job as a clinical orthopaedic nurse. After she left the show, love interest Rykard Jenkins left Love Island to join her.

However, the couple parted ways after 18 months together and Rachel, 28, continued to work at hospitals as an orthopaedic nurse. Rachel also made money as an Instagram influencer but chose to return to the NHS frontline during the pandemic.

Dr Alex George – Series 4

Alex George joined the villa while he was a doctor and then also went back to the NHS after leaving the show. Despite being known as the “love doctor” he failed to find romance on the show.

Now he is Good Morning Britain’s health reporter and has documented his work on hospital wards during the pandemic on his Youtube channel. More recently the A&E doctor has announced he is retraining as a GP.

Grace Wardle – Series 4

Grace lasted 10 days on the show after entering on day 26 and being dumped from the villa on day 37, and she returned to her job as a hairdresser afterwards.

The blonde beauty was one of the Casa Amor twist bombshells, however, she failed to make much of an impact in the main villa. She briefly caught the eye of Dr Alex but was voted off and went back to her salon in South London.

Malin Andersson – Series 2

Appearing in the 2016 series, Malin went back to work as a carer during the pandemic. Speaking to The Sun about returning to the care sector during Covid-19, the 28-year-old said: “Going back into care now has been really good for me mentally.

“Sometimes I can have my down days, like we all do, and I can overthink.” She cared for the elderly and terminally ill during the first lockdown, which she said “humbled her greatly”.

Harley Judge – Series 3

Harley lasted nine days on the show before returning to his job as an estate agent. He was the Ken doll lookalike and was initially coupled up with Amber Davies, however, she eventually got with Kem Cetinay and they won the show in 2017.

After the show, aside from his job as an estate agent, he also began bodybuilding and now competes, and launched an OnlyFans account.
