Austin Powers star Mike Myers looked unrecognisable with grey hair and a beard in his latest public appearance.
The 60-year old attended the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute in Hollywood on Saturday (April 27). The event, which celebrated the career of Nicole Kidman saw him don a penguin suit as he posed on the Dolby Theatre red carpet.
Mike, who also starred in Wayne’s World and Shrek, sported an unfamiliar grey barnet and matching stubble. The star boasts seven MTV Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award to his name, and is more commonly known for his brushed-back brown locks and clean-shaven look.

Nicole, meanwhile, the 49th recipient of the award, arrived in shimmering gold full-length gown. She told the PA news agency on the carpet of her achievement: “It’s a little overwhelming. I want to be able to appreciate it and show that I love it, and that I am so grateful, but I’m a little awkward, that’s just my personality, I’m sometimes shy.”
She continued: “As an actor that’s what we do, we act as actors, we’re given scripts, we have direction, we collaborate. So, the idea of being by yourself … but I’ll always rise to the occasion and I’m so grateful to be on this list.”
Later in the even Mike appeared on stage clutching a mask in reference to 1999 flick Eyes Wide Shut, which saw Nicole star as Alice Harford alongside Tom Cruise. Also in attendance were Joey King, Meryl Streep, Reese Witherspoon and Morgan Freeman.
Speaking on The Today Show in America in 2022, Mike explained that he would love to make a fourth Austin Powers film, saying: “I would love to do one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He then teased that a fourth film could possibly be in production, by adding: “We’ll see. I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a program, should it exist or not exist.”
And speaking in 2018, he explained that a fourth release in the franchise could come from Dr. Evil’s perspective rather than protagonist Austin. He told Access Online at the time: “Well you’re gonna see Dr. Evil soon [at the Super Bowl], somewhere in the culture.
“But the movie, you know I’ve had three kids under the age of seven. They take a long time to write, they always have. Jay [Roach]’s been super crazy. He’s doing a fantastic movie right now that he’s working on. But… it’s looking good.”
