Huge Love Island star ‘in talks’ with I’m A Celeb bosses after villa disappointment

A Love Island favourite has revealed he’s been “in talks” to join I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Chris Taylor, 33, has gone from strength to strength since he first appeared on our screens back in 2019. Although the actor has been unlucky in love, he has dominated our screens with his cheeky online skits, hilarious podcast appearances and surprising acting gigs.

His most recent appearances include his role in the box office hit Barbie movie and returned to Love Island in the 2023 for the All Stars series. Despite failing to find love in the villa, the TV favourite has put his heart in the hands of relationship experts on Celebs Go Dating.

But he hasn’t neglected his roots, after it was announced last week that he would be joining the Love Island panel this year. Now, in an exclusive interview with Daily Star Chris has teased that he could be swapping out the lavish villa for the Aussie jungle.

The up-and-coming actor, who has partnered with McDonalds to raise awareness of its new Surprize Fries promotion, has revealed he has been “in talks” with ITV bosses about going Down Under. He told us: “I’d love to do I’m A Celeb, yeah.

“I’ve had chats with them about that, I think I’ll definitely do that at some point when I’m ready for it.” He added that he’s interested in taking part in other reality shows including Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Chris went on: “Other things like Strictly, Dancing on Ice, I can skate but I can’t dance. So, I mean I’d be up for a challenge. SAS terrifies me even just the idea of it, but I think I would do it if they wanted me to.”

But one show fans won’t see him returning to as a contestant is Love Island. Following the announcement that Love Island All Stars will be returning in 2025, the TV hunk disappointed fans when he confirmed he won’t be returning to the villa.

He continued: “I’m up for stuff but I don’t know if I could do another Love Island, I don’t think I’ve got that range left in me. But also, I want to settle down, hopefully I’ll find someone on Celebs Go Dating and I can’t do it.”

Chris went on to reveal that after he came out of the villa, he had discussions with ITV bosses about another comeback. The comic went on: “I actually had a meeting with a couple of the execs at ITV when I’d finished the season [All Stars].

“And one of the big dogs said to me, ‘It looks like we’re gonna get a season two, we’re just making sure it’s gonna get a recommission on All Stars’. And then he went and wiggled his eyebrows at me.

“And I went, ‘There’s no f***ing way I’m doing it again brother, there’s no way. I mean I was quite anti-it in the first place anyway, I didn’t really want to do it, but I changed my opinion on it over time when I spoke to him about it.”

Despite being resilient about returning to the villa, he admitted that he is grateful for everything ITV have given him. Chris gushed: “And I’m very glad I did and I’m very grateful for everything that I’ve got since it and what it’s done for my career and stuff.

“But I also think you can have too much of a good thing and it’s quite emotionally stressful in there and by the end of it, I’d had enough. I’ve been through enough emotional turmoil, and I don’t know if I could put myself through that again in that arena.

“And also, because everyone would be like, ‘Oh Christ, God Chris is doing it again’, like people are gonna be bored off it do you know what I mean?” Fans will have to stay tuned to see if Chris will find love on Celebs Go Dating this summer.

Chris Taylor has partnered with McDonald’s to raise awareness of its new Surprize Fries promotion, where customers will be in with chance of winning millions of prizes. Running until Tuesday, July 2
