Emily in Paris viewers demand Alfie spin-off series following dramatic Season 4

Warning: Contains major spoilers for Emily in Paris Season 4, part one

Emily in Paris devotees are all shouting out for Lucien Laviscount’s character, Alfie, to get his own show following the release of season four, part one on the platform.

The eagerly anticipated first batch of episodes hit screens on August 15, leaving fans swooning and heartbroken in equal measure as Lily Collins’ character Emily navigated her ongoing love triangle with Alfie and French chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). She ultimately opted for romance with Gabriel over the dashing British financier Alfie, leaving fans fuming.

The internet has now gone wild with pleas for more Alfie action. A Reddit user voiced their proposal in the series’ subreddit, writing: “If no one is going to say if, I am. We need an Alfie in (insert city) Spin off. A broken-hearted Alfie movies to San Francisco (you know, he’s British, San Francisco is in US) and starts a new life… Which city would you choose?”.

Fellow show aficionados didn’t hold back, pitching in with their ideal locations. One chimed in with gusto: “I’d like to see it,” then threw in “Come to NYC Alfie”, reports the Manchester Evening News. Another fan tossed Italy into the ring, hinting at potential plot threads: “Italy would be a good option though if Antoine expands the perfume business.”

Fans on Instagram have also been buzzing about seeing more of Alfie, with one user exclaiming: “F*** Emily in Paris. Tell me more about Alfie in Paris”. Another passionate viewer shared their frustration: “I cannot watch Emily in Paris because they did Alfie so wrong every single time. That man is a lover boy he is a true gentleman and they do him dirty every single time. It makes me mad.”

Fans nearly missed out on Alfie altogether, however. In an interview with Capital FM, Laviscount disclosed that his character was only ever meant to feature in two episodes.

“I was only supposed to do two episodes. I remember it was supposed to be my last day, I got this little round of applause, and then Darren Star, the creator, comes in and says, ‘Lucien, you’re not leaving Paris’,” he shared.

When quizzed about why he believed the showrunners were keen to keep Alfie, Laviscount replied: “I have no idea! I’ve just got to thank the acting Gods that are out there somewhere in the ether, and yeah, I guess just working with Lily as well, I think maybe we just had a good kind of relationship on set, and they wanted to keep me around.”
