Friends’ baby Emma all grown up as stars admit they were banned from watching show

Friends fans were left awestruck when they saw baby Emma had fully grown up.

The American sitcom won over millions of viewers across the world as the group of pals lived out their best lives in New York City. First premiering back in 1994, the show grew to be one of the most popular shows at the time.

Fans were thrilled when Rachel Green, played by Jennifer Aniston, finally decided to get together with Ross Geller, played by David Schwimmer. The story did not end there, however, as they were able to bring a child – baby Emma – into the world, with viewers gushing over the little tot.

However, what many fans did not know was that the role of Emma was played by twins, who were switched interchangeably for the purposes of filming. Now, 20 years after the show ended, the stars who played the little bundle of joy are all grown up.

Celebrating its 30-year anniversary, ITV morning show Good Morning Britain was able to track down the actors who played baby Emma on the show, Noelle and Cali Sheldon. Both now aged 22, the pair looked worlds away from their baby days, as they looked back fondly on their time on the show.

The twins said in the interview: “It feels really cool getting to be part of a show that’s older than we are, Friends has been part of pop culture and television history since we were babies, I’m really grateful for it.” When asked on what they thought Emma would be like today, both said they believed she would have traits from both her parents – being both studious and stylish.

Entertainment reporter Richard Arnold also gave fans a huge life update for the twin sisters, announcing that both had graduated from UCLA. However, it appears the pair are more comfortable to be behind the camera directing rather than being in front of it.

As well as this, both Noelle and Cali admitted that they had been forbidden from watching the show when they were younger, only being allowed to watch the show when they were 13. “I don’t remember anything about being on the show, but I’ve seen the pictures,” they admitted.

In a separate interview with Bustle magazine, mum Gretchen Carpenter spoke highly of the cast and crew on the show. She gushed: “Everyone was really, really nice to Noelle and Cali, and treated them like little princesses on the set.”

With the pair now looking to get into the production side of media, both Noelle and Cali still have an impressive list of acting credits to their name. Their final acting role came in 2019, when they appeared in horror thriller Us, taking on the roles of Lindsey and Becca Tyler.

Fans were thrilled to see the twin pair thriving, after the slew of viewers paid tribute to late actor Matthew Perry last month. The official Friends Instagram account, boasting a huge 12.3million followers posted a touching tribute to the Chandler Bing actor, on what would have been his 55th birthday.
