Daily Star has composed a timeline of events during the final minutes of Payne’s life leading up to his untimely death.

Liam Payne made a jaw-dropping confession to a hotel guest just minutes before he died. A woman said that the singer reportedly told her: “I used to be in a boy band – that’s why I’m so f***ed up.”

The woman was one of the last people to speak and interact with the former One Direction member at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Daily Mail have claimed that she said Liam “showed disturbing and weird behaviour” while smashing his laptop on the floor and took a picture of the singer laying across a sofa and working on the device.

Daily Mail also wrote that she alleged Liam: “Grabbed a young woman and pretended to choke her in the hotel lift and was accompanied by an ‘entourage’ of two women and a British man.”

The woman claimed that she was “shaken” by what she had seen. She told the publication: “I came into the hotel and he was waiting by the elevator and it was so clear he wanted someone to recognise him […] When the lift came he suddenly said to us without any prompting: ‘Yes, I’m Liam!,’ really drawing it out.”

She then alleged that the popstar said he told the woman and her friends to “get in the elevator” with him and quipped: “I love a cuddle”.

Her pictures of Liam in the lobby were reportedly taken at 4:26pm local time (8:26pm UK time) and a mere 36 minutes later panic broke out due to Liam’s fall.

An ambulance arrived for the One Direction singer, but he was sadly certified dead.

Hotel Room

Remnants of a white powder were found in the room

Photos published across Argentinian media, reportedly of Liam’s hotel room, show a table covered in tin foil with white powder and scorch marks. A lighter was also found and police reported that medicines like clonazepam were found.

Pictures also showed the television was smashed

The drug is used to control epilepsy, involuntary muscle spasms and panic disorders. Daily Mail also reported: “More candle and aluminium foil remains were found in the bathtub of Payne’s suite, the bottom of which was stained and had some burns.”

Balcony Fall

Staff at the hotel reportedly feared that Payne, who stood at 5ft 10in, could have easily fallen over the glass balcony that stands at around 4ft.

Argentinian police have hypothesised that Liam was “going through some type of outbreak as a result of substance abuse” before his death. While on the phone to 911 operators, a hotel worker was concerned that a guest’s “life is in danger” and even made them aware that his room had a balcony.

They were “afraid he might do something” as they begged for “someone to come” and help them. According to reports, workers at the hotel heard a sound in the courtyard before Liam’s body was discovered.

Liam Payne’s body was sadly found in the hotel’s courtyard next to a lighter, a whisky bottle and a mobile phone. Payne died from a reported 25 injuries sustained during the fall which then led to “internal and external haemorrhaging”.

Preliminary autopsy results have revealed that Liam had “injuries to his head alone enough to cause death”. Medical professionals have also said that Payne “did not adopt the reflex posture” while he fell, which could indicate that he may not have been either fully or semi unconscious at the time of his death.
