Katie Price has been candid about her wish to expand her family – but she might have trouble adding to her television career.
Speaking of adding to her brood, the 46-year-old mother-of-five recently declared: “It’s going to happen one way or another.” Her journey towards motherhood has been fraught with challenges, having undergone three unsuccessful IVF treatments with her ex-partner Carl Woods before their split at the end of 2023.
Despite these hurdles, Katie remains hopeful of having a child with her new beau, JJ Slater. As she continues her pursuit to grow her brood, her past attempts and the emotional turmoil associated with trying for another baby with Carl are set to be unveiled in a shocking documentary titled Katie Price: Making Babies, as confirmed by Channel 4.

The raw and emotionally charged nature of this fly-on-the-wall documentary, due to air in March, is bound to evoke some painful emotions for both Katie and Carl. Katie has admitted that she “can’t” watch it back, and it’s reported that Carl is so upset by the experience that he’s trying to stop the screening.

“Carl doesn’t want it aired, it was filmed when the pair were a couple trying for a baby,” an insider disclosed to OK!. “It would bring back hurtful memories for him and it would open up a can of worms and demons he’s worked hard to get rid of.”
In the days when he and Katie were a happy couple, Carl didn’t hold back expressing his desire for a family. Chatting on Good Morning Britain, in 2021, he remarked warmly: “I would love children of my own,” and admitted with a sense of surprise: “Before this, I swore blind I would never date a girl with kids and I jumped in with five.”
But since their rather messy breakup, Carl’s changed his tune about his ex, blurting out just last week: “I don’t think she cares who she has a baby with, as long as she gets a baby. In that situation, it’s not about who, it doesn’t matter.”

The teaser clips of the upcoming programme suggest viewers are in for an emotional rollercoaster, with those in the know saying the show will track Katie’s tumultuous journey peppered with “lots of obstacles and ups and downs along the way”. Insiders have spilt that the series will put a spotlight on “the struggles women face while trying for a baby in their forties”.
A source previously dished out: “Katie is determined to show the raw and real side of IVF, and how it has been a deeply personal struggle for her.” The mother of five recently opened up on Olivia Attwood’s podcast So Wrong It’s Right about her IVF battles and her fervent wish to add to her brood, discussing the trials she’s faced with frankness.

“You’ll see a programme coming out, I can’t even watch it,” she confessed to Olivia about the upcoming documentary. “I’ve asked my sister to watch it back, my IVF journey, it’s failed and failed. It’s with the ex. People have got to remember if I act young or look younger, your body is still 46 and your eggs get less and they get older and it’s harder.”
When Olivia probed whether she was certain about wanting another child, Katie responded: “Or two. It’s going to happen one way or another. I don’t know how, but I’m not giving up.”
Katie and Carl, who had an on-again-off-again relationship for three years and were even engaged at one point, had a rocky relationship, before finally parting ways last year.
She has since been smitten with MAFS UK star JJ, 32.
