Sick trolls on TikTok have shared fake videos claiming to be Liam Payne’s funeral.
The former One Direction singer tragically died in October after a fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina, and as his real funeral approaches, some social media users have been uploading clips pretending they are of Liam’s, sparking outrage among grieving fans.
In the comments section fans are slamming these distasteful posts as ‘disrespectful’ and calling the creators “sick”. While the actual details of Liam’s funeral remain a closely guarded secret, mourners have been paying their respects at St. Peter’s Collegiate Church in Wolverhampton, leaving flowers and heartfelt messages near the Lady Wulfrun statue.

It’s thought that Liam’s final farewell will be held in his hometown this week close to where he grew up. Liam’s devastated father, Geoff Payne, immediately flew to Argentina upon learning of his son’s death and stayed there until he could return with Liam’s body, arriving back at London Heathrow last Thursday morning, with fans tracking his flight’s journey home.
Yet while hordes of devotees might yearn to be present, they’ve been asked to honour the family’s wish for privacy and stay away. It’s been reported that the funeral itself will be an intimate affair for those closest to him.
A viral TikTok has surfaced showing a fan beseeching others with the message: “Your friendly reminder that if you’re thinking of going to Liam Payne’s funeral to look at One Direction members-don’t!”
In their caption, they implored: “I’m begging you all to remember Liam Payne was a human and his family and friends are going through a hard enough time without having to cater to the public. They deserve to say goodbye to him with grace.”
Although they aren’t on the guest list, it’s foreseen that legions of fans will flock to Wolverhampton’s streets to pay their respects.
