A soap star has been rushed to hospital after making a heart-wrenching plea to her fans.

Brookside actress Jennifer Ellison updated her social media followers as she demanded she just wanted to feel better after suffering from health issues.

The reality star posted a picture of her arm with a cannula attached as she sat in a hospital char and wrote: “The gift that keeps on giving. Need to feel well again.”

The 41-year-old dance school owner didn’t expand further on what had happened but just added a sad face to her Instagram Story.

The mum-of-three starred as Emily Shadwick on Brookside from 1998 until 2003. She later appeared in The Phantom of the Opera in 2004, The Cottage in 2008, and Hotel Babylon in 2006.

The soap actress has also previously appeared on the covers of Zoo and FHM, but reality TV fans may recognise her from Celebrity SAS back in 2022. Just months after starring on the competition show, Jennifer revealed that she’d lost an impressive three stone.

She spoke about her achievement with Closer magazine and said: “I lost a stone since doing it. I’ve since lost more because it really gave me a kick up the backside, because the gym is daunting to me.”

“I was scared of the gym but then after SAS, I said if I could do that, I could do anything.”

The actress said that she is “in the gym five times a week” and likes to do a “mix of cardio and weights,” which has led to her being “ten and a half stone down”. Ellison said that she “feels great”.

As a huge noughties actress, Jennifer was offered a handsome six-figure cheque to pose naked for Playboy – but she decided to decline. While on the Anything Goes podcast, Jennifer said: “I did turn down Playboy for nearly half a million because I just thought, ‘if I ever have little boys’ – and I’m so glad that I turned it down because the Internet’s crazy now.”

“Even when they’re playing rugby, they’ll go: ‘Your mum, this or that,’ because they’ve seen me in the mens mags. Not now but obviously they’ve had a little google, so if there was anything like that out now, I would’ve been mortified.”
