A star of 2025’s The Apprentice has decided to walk away from the show and the chance at winning Lord Alan Sugar’s whopping £250,000 investment in shocking new scenes
An Apprentice contestant has unexpectedly left the series.
The 2025 season started back in January and already one of Lord Sugar’s hopefuls has decided to step away from the competition. It has been reported that during the dramatic boardroom showdown, the contestant exclaimed that the ordeal was “not for them”.
BBC’s footage reportedly shows the candidate taking matters into their own hands before Lord Sugar, 77, has the chance to fire them himself. The identity of the contestant has not been revealed ahead of tonight’s episode [13 February], which airs at 9pm on BBC One.
A source has spoken on the bombshell stunt and said the decision was a “total shock” for everyone in the boardroom. However, they also believe that it was a clever tactic as some of their co-stars “believe the candidate wanted to avoid the potential embarrassment of being fired”.
The TV source spoke to MailOnline: “They saved Lord Sugar the trouble and simply gave up the chance of becoming his next business partner.” A source close to the mystery contestant actually countered the claim, saying that the star “realised that the show wasn’t the right process for them and their fellow candidates wanted it more”.
“Staying in the process wouldn’t have been fair to their competitors as far as they were concerned. They have a very successful business, and they always had one eye on getting back to that. Everyone involved just wishes them the absolute best.”
This year’s long awaited series saw the stars travel to Austria as Sugar challenged them to create and sell tours to travellers. Apprentice icons Karren Brady and Tim Campbell joined them, returning for another year as Alan’s stony-faced boardroom advisors.
