ITV Coronation Street pulled from schedule in another soap schedule shake-up

Coronation Street has been pulled from its usual Friday slot to make way for the UEFA Women’s Nationals League match, which will see England’s Lionesses take on Portugal’s women’s team

Coronation Street has been booted from its usual Friday night spot this week thanks to the UEFA Women’s Nationals League football match.

The England’s Lionesses will be locking horns with Portugal’s women’s team on February 21 so Corrie will air tonight (February 18) at 8pm instead or head over to ITVX where the episode is up for grabs to stream right now.

However, Corrie fans won’t miss out on any action from the cobbles as the soap airs tonight (Tuesday, February 18) instead at 8pm and the episode is already available to stream on ITVX.

The soap has been subject to many changes in recent weeks in order to accommodate live sports matches.

It comes after the announcement that big changes are coming to both Coronation Street and fellow ITV soap Emmerdale in 2026.

Each soap will revert to 30-minute episodes that will air from 8pm each weeknight, effectively cutting an episode each per week.

ITV bosses said the decision was made following audience research into viewing patterns, with the new scheduling pattern forming what execs are calling a “soap power hour”.

It’s a dramatic week in Weatherfield as Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) is attacked and left for dead after his prison escape. In a shock twist, it is looking very much like DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) could be the one to blame.

Also, When Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) wakes from his operation, he’s disappointed to realise Abi Webster’s (Sally Carman) not there.

Kevin Webster gets good news about his operation

Abi sits in the car park, tormented by thoughts of Mason Radcliffe’s final moments and spotting a gurney with a sheet over it, Abi is drawn towards it but when she pulls the sheet back, she gets the shock of her life. What has Abi seen?

The doctor tells Kevin that the operation was successful. Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) tells Kevin that she’s booked Abi in to see a therapist and will pay for her treatment.
