Gossip Girl star Michelle Trachtenberg has died aged 39 after worrying fans with ‘concerning’ photos.
The sad news has rocked the acting world and devastated fans all over the globe, making it another big hit on the acting world. Her death was reported by the New York Post on Wednesday (February 26), citing police sources and is reportedly not being investigated as suspicious.
The Hollywood star was found at approximately 8 am on Wednesday at an apartment at One Columbus Place on Central Park South, New York. However, a cause of death has not been immediately disclosed.
This follows concerns from fans who voiced their worries online after she shared some recent snaps from an awards show. She captioned her recent pic: “I wanted to look like naughty.”
But over the past year, her fans had picked up on her weight and were concerned with her thin frame, often asking the actress if she was OK.
In the lead up to her death, she had shared a photo of herself online with a note which read: “The warmth before the storm.” But her fans filled the comment section once more with kind notes, with one saying “as long as it isn’t a heavy storm.”
The star first shot to fame age three starring as Nona Mecklenberg on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete. Since then, she has racked up some huge acting credits to her name including Gossip Girl and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
She also featured in Ice Princess, Black Christmas, Love Bites, 17 Again, amongst racks of other TV and film credits on her roster.
Fans took to social media to share their condolences, with one writing: “Not the news I wanted to hear. Rip Georgina,” as a nod to her Gossip Girl character Georgina Sparks.
A second added: “She raised all of us who grew up in the 2000s may she rest in peace.” While a third penned: “So sad to hear. I always hoped to see you in a Buffy reboot. Rest in peace.”
