All eyes are on the O2 in London as the BRIT Awards take off, but some fans at home are speculating on a surprise reunion of Oasis before their tour set to kick off in a few months

Social media fans have speculated that Oasis could reunite tonight at the BRIT Awards before their tour this June.

The Gallagher brothers previously announced a reunion tour in August and sold their tickets out in a matter of hours, much to the dismay of many loyal fans due to the use of so-called dynamic pricing. Complaints flooded in after some fans paid £350 per ticket. Since the backlash, Oasis have remained quiet on what’s to come during their nation-wide tour, but some fans think the Britpop band may give a sneak peak at the BRITs.

Previously, Liam Gallagher has been adamant that Oasis will not perform before their tour – most notably shutting down Glastonbury rumours.

However, the brothers have not mentioned the BRIT awards, with a few keen fans asking whether they could make a shock appearance.

One user on X tagged Liam and wrote: “Rumours of Oasis playing the Brit Awards before their tour, is this true?” Another added: “Oasis pulling up at brit awards tonight, trust.” A third speculated: “Oasis at the Brits?”

The brothers have had a varied history with the awards. On February 21 2018, Liam Gallagher performed an emotional version of the Oasis classic Live Forever at the BRIT Awards in tribute to the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing.

In 1995, Oasis won Best Newcomers at The Brit Awards. After this, Liam performed his famous strut onto stage, with one X fan commenting: “that walk by Liam Gallagher should have won an award on its own.”

That night they also beat rival Britpop band, Blur, who they often competed against in the charts. In jest, Liam said: “I’d like to thank all the people,” before he broke out singing Blur’s iconic song, Parklife.

Liam Gallagher recently admitted that he is giving up booze to improve his upcoming performance. The rocker is reportedly going teetotal this summer to ensure that the Oasis reunion gigs are a success.

The 52 year old music legend is determined to deliver the best performances of his career and is already on a fitness regime. He mentioned on X that this move will help him “get into the zone of zones”.
