McFly heartthrob Danny Jones has hit the headlines with some cheeky antics, reportedly planting a smooch on I’m A Celebrity sensation Maura Higgins during a wild BRITs afterparty early Sunday. But who’s his lady back home?
The singer has been hitched to ex-Miss England Georgia Horsley since tying the knot in 2014. Four years of dating led to a romantic Cyprus proposal, with Georgia swiftly saying “absolutely!”
Wedding bells followed pronto in Yorkshire, where pal Ellie Goulding belted out “How Long Will I Love You?” for their first dance as Mr and Mrs. Fast-forward to today, the duo are proud parents to their seven year old son, Cooper, and regularly share their family updates with fans on social media.
Despite this supposed snogging scandal, this isn’t their first rodeo when it comes to marital hiccups. Post-baby blues hit hard after Cooper’s birth, with Georgia confessing there was “constant resentment” brewing.
Talking openly on the Made by Mammas podcast, she revealed: “Before, when Danny joined The Voice Kids, it was straight after I’d had Cooper. I’d given birth five days before and he had to go back to work, so I was left home alone.
“We’ve always said that – as long as we’ve been together, we’ve always enjoyed our separate times because when we’ve reunited it’s even nicer. Communication is key, as well. It’s something we had to relearn after having a baby – it’s just constant resentment at the other partner for not doing enough, even though they are,” reports the Mirror.
Rumours are swirling that he and Maura Higgins shared a “drunken kiss” at Universal Music’s post-Brits bash at 180 Studios on the Strand. The Sun has released footage that seems to show Danny, who tied the knot with Georgia Horsley in 2014, locking lips with Maura inside the party spot.
An insider dished to the publication that the pair “seemed to be having a great time,” and noted: “They looked like they had a brief drunken kiss.”
The source spilled that after hitting it off on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity last year – which Danny clinched – they’ve struck up a “seem to have a close friendship” and were “talking and laughing for ages”. It’s been whispered that they hung out for a solid 90 minutes at the shindig while other revellers let loose around them.
According to the grapevine, Danny was seen dishing out advice to Maura and even slung his arm around her shoulder at one point. They said she cozied up too, resting her head on his shoulder as they chatted with mates.
Word has it that just before the clock struck 3am today, Danny and Maura were spotted heading into the foyer together, where their supposed smooch was caught on camera. They reportedly left the venue with beaming smiles, snapped alongside former co-star Oti.
Laughter continued at Universal Music’s afterparty at Nobu Hotel an hour later, where a source claimed they were “still grinning” and having a laugh.
Maura was previously rumoured to be dating Pete Wicks, but reports last month suggested they had split. It’s believed that Maura and Pete made a point of not crossing paths at the BRIT Awards red carpet.
