People have spotted an interaction between Danny Jones and Maura Higgins in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, months before their reported “drunken kiss” at a BRITs afterparty
People believe Danny Jones and Maura Higgins shared a questionable moment in the jungle before their BRITs kissing scandal.
McFly star Danny, 38, seemed to lock lips with his former I’m A Celebrity campmate Maura, 34, at Universal Music’s star-studded afterparty on Saturday night (March 1). Footage from The Sun appears to show the pair sharing a brief smooch by a curtain at the party, at 180 Studios on the Strang in London.
Onlookers claimed the pair were cosying up to one another for hours before the alleged “brief drunken kiss”. They were later spotted at Sony Music’s afterparty and stayed until the early hours, believed to be around 4am.
And now, fans have been reacting to a moment shared between Danny and Maura in the jungle, with some claiming it ‘aged poorly’ in light of the kiss. The pair starred on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2024 alongside the likes of Coleen Rooney and Barry McGuigan.
In one episode, Maura recalls how she got revenge on an ex-boyfriend who cheated on her prior to her appearance on Love Island, telling the story to campmates Danny and Loose Women star Jane Moore. She said:: “I had a plan and no word of a lie, when he went to the gym the next day I got his toothbrush and I filmed myself scrubbing in the verges [of the toilet], he had a dentist appointment that day!”
An excited Danny said: “You don’t wanna mess with Maura!” One fan couldn’t help but notice the way Danny looked at Maura and seemed to think it meant something.
One fan commented on a screenshot of their conversation, asking: “Anyone else noticed the way Danny looks at Maura.” A TikTok user known as mush__lover defended the McFly star in a video, stating: “I mean I can’t see it. I can’t see it at all. It’s just Danny being nice.
“You know, looking at someone while they’re talking to you is just being polite. Like, I can’t see it being any more than that. And like, plus his wife and his son are watching.
“Like, it would be so weird to be doing that,” she added. “So no, I’m team Danny. He’s not flirting with Maura.” Another agreed, writing: “He looks at everyone like this with genuine interest, think of his wife at home before making dumb comments like this”.
However, one comment on the video, with over 1500 ‘likes’, read: “This aged well,” appearing to reference the recent alleged kiss, and another, with almost 4000 ‘likes’, asked: “Who’s here after the Brits”.
Another wrote: “Here after the Brits… oh hell naaaa [sic]”. A fourth added: “Well, unfortunately everyone sees it now [sad face].”
Danny and wife Georgia Horsley tied the knot in 2014 after being together since 2009. He popped the question while on holiday in Cyprus, and the pair got hitched the following summer in Yorkshire.
Their first dance was to Ellie Goulding’s hit ‘How Long Will I Love You?’ They welcomed their son Cooper in January 2018, who is now seven-years-old.
