Danny Jones’s wife Georgia Horsley is reportedly “struggling” and feeling “humiliated” after the post-BRITs Maura Higgins drama.
According to reports, the influencer is prioritising “protecting her son” in the wake of her McFly star hubby Danny being snapped ‘kissing’ his I’m A Celeb mate Maura Higgins.
The ex-Miss England beauty has had to watch her upcoming work gigs get axed, including a scheduled public appearance this Saturday (7 March) with her Mum’s the Word podcast chum Kelsey Parker at the Baby Show at London’s Excel.
But word from a mate close to the former pageant queen is that she’s bowing out, as she’s having a rough go of it and has slammed the brakes on all professional plans. The confidant revealed that Georgia is also dead set on keeping their seven-year-old lad Cooper away from the scandal blowing up in the press.
The source told The Mirror: “Georgia is struggling at the moment. She isn’t just having to navigate the circumstances, but doing it publicly. She has been humiliated. People are quick to forget there is a child in the middle of this mess.
“Georgia is putting her focus into their son, Cooper. For now, Georgia will not be participating in any work commitments, including The Baby Show, and any podcast filming.”
Regarding her expected turn at The Baby Show, the insider remarked: “With thousands of people attending, and a number of media titles, it wouldn’t be right for her to attend and speak, when the news is only going to have been a week old by this point,” reports the Mirror.
“How can Georgia be expected to address the public and the press when she’s still unsure of what to say to her loved ones? Georgia is a resilient person, and she’ll navigate this challenging time, but for now, her primary focus is on shielding their child from the fallout.”
Georgia tied the knot with Danny in 2014 at St Mary’s Priory Church in Old Malton, Yorkshire, but their seemingly solid marriage was rocked when a video emerged of Danny getting cozy with Maura at a BRIT Awards afterparty. The clip, which quickly went viral, appeared to show the pair chatting and possibly even sharing a kiss.
Georgia, Danny, both 38, and Maura, 34, have yet to publicly address the scandal, but fans have been vocal about their disappointment. As the incriminating video spread, Danny faced widespread criticism for his actions as a married man.
He had posted a photo on Instagram from the awards night, posing alongside KSI and bandmate Tom Fletcher, with the caption: “The collab you neeeeeeeed” However, enraged fans soon flooded the comments section to condemn the singer’s behavior. One fan wrote: “Danny. You are married with a child. Fans are meant to respect you but how can they when you don’t even respect yourself.”
Another comment read: “Oh Danny you had it all man”, while someone else remarked: “Here before the comments get turned off or limited!” Firing back at the haters, one fan rushed to defend the beleaguered artist, saying: “Omg EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP! These are people’s lives. Leave them alone.”
