The now 80-year-old Dancing Queen hitmaker even has a coffee just before turning in for the night, but he’s not the only celeb consuming lots of caffeine throughout the day
ABBA legend Bjorn Ulvaeus has revealed that he downs 20 cups of COFFEE every day.
The Dancing Queen hitmaker – who turned 80 on Friday, April 25 – even has a coffee just before turning in for the night. Speaking this week, the Swede confessed that he ‘drank 15-20 cups of coffee a day’.
That works out at 7,300 cups a year. He in a previous chat, he said the first thing he did in the morning was have a cup of Joe. He said: “I wake up quite early and the first job is a coffee. i have up to 20 cups a day – black with a dash of milk.” He doesn’t even heed warnings that having coffee before bed can stop you sleeping, adding: “Before bed, I’ll have a final coffee and I go to sleep around 10pm.”
The only celeb close to Bjorn is Rylan Clarke, 36, who says he’s rustled up thousands of cups of coffee in his Neff coffee machine at his pad in Essex.
The Ready Steady Cook host confessed that his coffee machine kept tabs on how many cups he’s made – for himself and guests.
He said he’d made more than 19,000 cups of coffee in around three years – that’s 17 cups-a-day, just three less than Bjorn.
Speaking recently, Rylan said: “On a normal day I head straight to the coffee machine.
“My coffee machine is genuinely one thing I couldn’t live without…I’ve made 19,000 cups apparently.”
The Daily Star recently reported that a top brain boffin claims just THINKING about sipping the first coffee of the day delivers a huge dopamine hit – with 60% of caffeine lovers finding ‘comfort’ in the morning ritual.
Leading neurologist Dr Faye Begeti – dubbed ‘The Brain Doctor’ – said that the sound and smell of the first brew can trigger the feel-good hormone to be released.
However Dr Begeti says even just the anticipation of the morning coffee has been shown to activate the dopaminergic reward system, leaving people feeling happy even before the first sip.
Research revealed that more than half (57%) of Brits say they feel much more productive once they’ve had their morning brew, and 58% find comfort in the ritual.
While more than half (52%) of the nation typically drink two to three cups of coffee every day, 63% like to try different flavours and switch up their order.
Half (50%) of the 2,000 adults quizzed by Pret A Manger believe their drink tastes better when made in a shop by a barista.
