Liz Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus revealed their budding romance to the world at Easter, surprising everyone with a photo that showed the US country star kissing Liz on the cheek
Liz Hurley could have found “The One” in Billy Ray Cyrus, with insiders saying they could even tie the knot.
The model and the US country star stunned the world on Easter Sunday when they shared a snap that showed Billy planting a kiss on Liz’s cheek as they leaned against a fence during a country walk. And now a source has said it looks as if their surprise romance is the real thing.
The pair met when they co-starred in 2022 movie Christmas In Paradise, and according to The Sun Liz was there for Billy last year when his marriage to Aussie singer Firerose collapsed. As they have grown closer, sparks have developed between them and Billy, 63, is apparently “very much her type”, with “a naughty streak that she can’t resist”.
The source told The Sun: “Everyone is saying Billy and Liz are world’s apart, but actually they are very similar. They have a lot in common and have the same interests.”
Billy also apparently reminds Liz of her cricketer ex Shane Warne, who died in 2022, with the source saying they “have a very similar energy about them”. The insider said the new couple share a lot of laughs and that Liz loves the fact the Achy Breaky Heart singer is “a real flirt”.
“She is nearly 60 and deep down does want to share her life with someone and settle down,” they went on. “Everyone is saying he could be the one, so don’t be surprised if she marries again.”
Billy has been married three times – to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991, to superstar Miley Cyrus’s mum Tish from 1993 to 2023 and then to Firerose. They exchanged vows in 2023 but split in 2024.
As well as Shane, Liz has had high profile romances with actor Hugh Grant and Indian businessman Arun Nayar. She also dated late businessman Steve Bing – who took his own life in 2020 – and they share son Damian.
Damian was among those to weigh in after Liz and Billy made their romance Instagram official, by dropping a red heart emoji in the comments section. The 23-year-old also added a party emoji to show his thoughts on the sweet Easter snap.
Austin Powers beauty Liz, 59, has since uploaded two more shots of the budding romance. Captioned “Tennessee weekend”, the images show the stars hugging and out for a ride in a buggy together, with a dog in the passenger seat.
Meanwhile, Billy spoke out about their relationship during Apple Music Country’s The Ty Bentli Show, saying that Liz had “reached out” when he was in a hard place. Discussing their much-talked about photo, he quipped: “There will be one coming where she’s kissing me because people have been saying, ‘Why’s he always kissing her?’
“Unfortunately when I see her, when she puts her cheek out there, I don’t know what happens, I just kiss it.”
Last year, Damian revealed that both he and Liz were dating people. He said: “We are seeing people at the moment, but we’re both quite private.”
He added: “I’ve seen first-hand how devastating relationships in the public eye can become, and we’ve both made a decision that until somebody is incredibly serious, we’re not going to speak publicly about who we’re seeing.”
