David Beckham shares Brooklyn update after fans spot he was missing from 50th fishing trip

David Beckham has shared that he went on a fishing and camping trip to Scotland with his sons Romeo and Cruz just days before his 50th birthday – but Brooklyn was nowhere to be seen

David Beckham whisked his lads Romeo Beckham and Cruz Beckham off for a trip to mark his 50th birthday and confirmed his eldest son Brooklyn Beckham wasn’t in attendance.

The footie legend, who recently hit the big 5-0, revealed that just days before his birthday last week, he embarked on a fishing and camping adventure in Scotland with Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20.

He mentioned they “missed” Brooklyn, 26, who was MIA just like his mum Victoria Beckham, 51, and little sister Harper Beckham, 13, in the snaps David posted on Instagram today.

In his first post about the getaway, David let slip that he had been planning this trip “with his boys” six months prior. He went on to share that they enjoyed a spot of fishing at a secret location in Scotland and hinted at some cooking sessions back at their digs.

Sharing a snap of the trio by the seaside, he penned: “6 months ago planned a trip with my boys at the start of last week to camp and fish for my 50th.” Wrapping up the caption, David told his followers it “was so much fun”, reports the Mirror.

Another pic showed him proudly displaying scallops netted from the sea. He captioned it: “A few scallops for the fire later.” He later showcased some scallops sizzling on a fire, telling fans: “Doesn’t get any fresher than this”.

Other snaps revealed Romeo and Cruz getting stuck into some seafood prep at their digs, before the trio, including David, sat down for a feast. He posted: “Dinner for three. fresh scallops, blue lobster and crabs all caught a few hours before this.”

Earlier on, the ex-Manchester United ace had given his fans a sneak peek of their gaff on social media. He cheekily hinted they might be bunking in a bothy, which is basically a simple shelter.

One pic showed Romeo chilling on an air mattress and kipping bag inside the place. With a bunch of laugh-cry emojis, David ribbed: “[Romeo] not so happy about the first night’s accommodation” and quipped: “A Bothy.”

David then chucked up a video of his lads in their room, showing off where they’d be crashing. And with a snap of Romeo and Cruz by a cosy fire in the lounge area, he joked: “I promise they are smiling on the inside.”

Later on, David seemed to have a laugh at his own expense about getting on a bit. Next to a shot of him taking a breather by a tree in the woods, he cracked a joke: “Dad’s almost 50 in this shot. I needed a little rest.”

There were also pics of the Beckham boys out on a boat. David hinted that the lads had a digital detox during the trip, captioning one photo: “Last time boys were allowed to use their phones. Not so happy about it.”

David has since revealed that his eldest son Brooklyn wasn’t part of this trip but chose not to explain why. Sharing a selfie featuring Romeo, Cruz, and himself, David commented: “Fun times in [Scotland].”

He gave his absent son a shout-out, saying, “You were missed [Brooklyn].”

This news of Brooklyn skipping the trip follows reports that he and his partner Nicola Peltz-Beckham, 30, were noticeable no-shows at several celebrations marking David’s birthday – including a high-profile party held on Saturday. Their absence further fuels the rumors suggesting some family friction, and an apparent gap between Brooklyn and some relatives.
