Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham had reportedly been planning to attend the 2025 Met Gala but decided not to go to the glitzy event in New York
Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz reportedly pulled out of the 2025 Met Gala.
It’s said the pair were going to attend the fancy event hosted by Dame Anna Wintour but decided to skip it. In recent days Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, have been the centre of rift rumours as they failed to attend Brooklyn’s dad David’s 50th birthday celebrations.
The Beckhams had celebrated on three occasions – including a dinner party at the Core restaurant in Notting Hill, an intimate family event at their Cotswolds home, and a trip to France. Brooklyn and Nicola had reportedly flown to London for the dinner but ultimately failed to turn up – it’s said to have left David heartbroken.
It’s claimed there’s been tension between Brooklyn and his brother Romeo over Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull. Brooklyn had a brief romance with Kim in 2016.
It’s said Brooklyn and Nicola cancelled their plans to attend the Met as they were going to stay in London and attend David’s birthday, but the pair decided against going to the dinner. So the pair ended up missing both events.
“They cancelled plans to attend the Met because they really intended to be at David’s party on Saturday,” one source told The Sun. The source added: “But Brooklyn is really upset that blame for the rift has been levelled at Nicola.”
The source disputed claims that Nicola had been “controlling” Brooklyn and was responsible for the strained relationship with his family members. They said: “She has never told him what to do and has been nothing but supportive – she’s a loyal wife.”
According to TMZ, Brooklyn gave his family an ultimatum after requesting to celebrate with David in private, rather than attending an event with Kim there.
It’s also alleged the aspiring chef feels as though his family had chosen his younger brother Romeo over him. A source told The Sun: “He flew to London with the sole intention of seeing his family and celebrating his dad’s birthday.
“He suggested going for breakfast or a coffee but was told the only chance to see the family would be at one of their lavish parties which Kim would likely be at, so he refused. As far as he sees it, his parents have chosen Romeo and his new girlfriend over him.”
Another source disputed this and claimed Brooklyn had sent his dad a text but it “felt like box-ticking”.
Elsewhere, a source told the Daily Mail: “Victoria and David would do anything to get their son back, but they are done with Nicola now.”
The source claimed that Nicola is the reason behind the feud, claiming she “finds a way to start an argument” between Brooklyn and his relatives. They claimed that while Brooklyn had allegedly planned to attend the birthday celebrations, his wife would “kick something off” making it “impossible” for him to attend.
The source claimed: “It all stinks of a control thing. The family are absolutely certain this is what happened this time round, that a drama was created and Brooklyn doesn’t feel he can turn up to see his family – but it happened three times in a week.” Meanwhile, sources close to the Beckhams have told the Mirror that David and Victoria would do “anything” to have their son back.
They claimed: “It has become a problem and not something they can keep private because of the way the family uses social media. Things have escalated in recent months, and there is a very obvious rift that David and Victoria would love to heal,”
