A Strictly Come Dancing star has been caught up in an “armed robbery” with their partner after a dream trip to Las Vegas turned into an unimaginable nightmare
A Strictly Come Dancing star has been left shaken after an “armed robbery”.
Saffron Barker, who competed on the BBC dancing competition in 2019, was on a road trip in Las Vegas when her rental motor was allegedly stolen along with her possessions.
She was planning to hit the road with her beau Josh Miln, but their adventure soured when they decided to take a break. After coming back to their vehicle the pair were stunned to find it “smashed” and stripped bare.
The police later reportedly informed the shaken pair that two of the thieves were armed.
The 24-year-old took to TikTok to inform her fans what had happened. While applying her makeup in the clip, Saffron started off: “Get ready with me while I tell you why I can’t leave the US and everything I had with me is completely stolen.”
She explained that barely two hours into their trip they returned to find their rented Jeep had been “completely smashed up,” reports the Mirror.
The couple’s entire belongings were taken from the car, including passports and Saffron’s vital medication. Josh then popped up in the video, sharing with Saffron’s fans that their “hearts sunk” when they realised what had happened.
“We were both just devastated,” he admitted. Saffron went on to express their relief at not being present during the theft, saying: “They have guns and stuff in America; something worse could have happened.”
“Our parents keep saying ‘you should be grateful you guys are still alive,'” Josh added to the conversation.
Updating their followers on the latest, the YouTuber explained: “We’re currently waiting to get emergency passports, we have to drive back to LA, but then our flights are out of Vegas so we have to drive back again, but we absolutely won’t be stopping!”.
The pair were showered with love from fans online, with one writing: “Someone’s got an evil eye on you girl. I’m so sorry you’ve gone through this,” while another said: “I’m so sorry this has all happened to you but hopefully it means great things are round the corner. Keep your head up!”
