‘Truth’ behind Brooklyn Beckham’s 70 tattoos of Nicola Peltz and if it’s ‘unhealthy’

EXCLUSIVE: Brooklyn Beckham has 70 tattoos of wife Nicola Peltz inked across his body – but is this really a sign of an ‘unhealthy’ relationship like insiders at the Posh and Becks camp have claimed…

Are tattoos of a partner a good idea? Let’s find out…

Brooklyn Beckham got hitched to Nicola Peltz three years ago in a lavish Miami ceremony – but their relationship has since been embroiled in a family feud.

The socialite couple, who reside in the US, snubbed David Beckham’s big 50th birthday bash at the beginning of May, essentially imploding the already fraught relations within the Beckhams roost.

Since then, sources of both parties have issued claims about the inner-workings of, mainly, Nicola and Victoria – and their relationship that allegedly started to sour around the lead-up of the wedding in 2022.

Pals of the American daughter of a billionaire claimed that Posh and Becks are ’emotionally abusive and toxic’ and that she helped Brooklyn see the ‘light’.

Whereas, insiders in the Posh and Becks camp say that they are worried of Nicola, 30, “isolating” Brooklyn, 26, from his friends and family.

They claimed that he’s being held “hostage” in an “unhealthy” marriage, which they say is evident by his 70 tattoos of Nicola permanently inked across his body.

But is it a sign of a ‘problematic’ pairing or is Brooklyn just creatively showing his devotion to his wife? Well, we spoke to a couple’s therapist to further understand the ‘truth’ behind the collection of inkings.

Thomas Westenholz, couples therapist and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) specialist, revealed that getting a tattoo of a partner can be a sign of love – or a “cry” for wanting connection in a state of “identity loss”.

The relationship therapist claimed: “Tattoos can be love, or a cry for fusion. If you’re covering your body with someone else’s face, it might be less about devotion and more about identity loss. Passion isn’t always the same as emotional health.”

It was recently revealed that Brooklyn has 70 tattoos dedicated to Nicola and her family etched all over his body. One of the bigger pieces includes a drawing of his wife’s eyes on the back of his neck and, below, a short love letter from Nicola addressing Brooklyn as “my forever boy.”

Elsewhere on Brooklyn’s breathing Nicola ‘exhibit’, the lad has his wife’s late grandmother Gina’s name tattooed on his arm and a prayer on his torso in honour of her after she passed away in 2020.

The lad also has the couple’s wedding vows etched on his arm and the word ‘married’ on his hand. Brooklyn previously admitted that his wife “always cries” when he surprises her with new ink.

But, is the frequency of the tattoos more than just a declaration of love? Is there a cryptic message behind the etchings that show how Brooklyn ‘really’ feels about Nicola – or even himself?

Well, couple’s therapist Thomas claims that having lots of tattoos of a partner can be a sign of ‘insecurity’, though it can still be meaningful. He even went as far as suggesting that couples who get inkings of each other could be displaying ‘trust issues’.

The expert continued: “[Having that many tattoos] often says: ‘I need to make this permanent, because I don’t feel secure inside.’ Obsession with symbols can point to insecurity in the bond itself.

“Sometimes we ink what we’re afraid to lose.”

“It can be meaningful – if it’s coming from wholeness, not desperation. A tattoo won’t fix trust issues or make someone stay. Ink is permanent; relationships aren’t always. Know the difference.”

Even ‘Britain’s most tattooed mum’ chimed into the 70 tattoo bombshell. Melissa Sloan, 47, who has lost count of her over 800 tattoos urged Brooklyn to ‘sort his head’ after learning of his inkings.

She added that getting a tattoo of a lover is a “bad idea”, stating that her only tattoo regret is a name of an ex.
