Former glamour model Katie Price is 47 years old but she couldn’t hide her shock when she found out her “biological age” was much higher, admitting it was “nuts”
Katie Price has been told her “biological age” is much higher than her actual age.
The former glamor model, who turned 47 last month, has reportedly splashed out around £100k on plastic surgery over the years. She’s had 17 boob jobs as well as multiple facelifts, fillers, Botox and a BBL (Brazilian But Lift).
She’s also suffered a great deal of trauma in her life, including sexual assault, being held at gunpoint in South Africa and three kidnap attempts. The reality star opened up about her mental health struggles and diagnosis of PTSD in her 2022 Channel 4 doc, Trauma and Me.
The mum-of-five has now been told her biological age is 70 due to the levels of inflammation present in her body. She appeared on the What’s My Age Again? podcast hosted by comedian Katherine Ryan.
Katie, who was 46 when the episode was recorded, admitted she feared her biological age would come back as “104” or something in the nineties, but Katherine revealed: “Your biological age is 70. That’s 24 years older than your chronological age.”
A gobsmacked Katie replied: “Oh is it? That’s nuts!”. Dr Nichola Conlon explained: “What we actually measure in this test is directly linked to inflammation.
“There’s lots of different ways you can measure biological age, but this specific age test looks at levels of inflammation that are present in your body, because generally, if you have higher levels of inflammation, that is pro-aging on the inside, so it’ll push the biological age up.
“I’ve been sitting and listening in the background to all the stories and everything you’ve been saying and I really think in this case it is such an example of how trauma can really leave not just a psychological imprint on the body but a physical imprint on the inside.”
Katie recently opened up about the concerns she has for Harvey, who requires round-the-clock care due to his complex health conditions. Katie’s eldest lives with Prader-Willi syndrome, autism, and septo-optic dysplasia, which causes blindness.
He also has Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic condition which can cause a constant feeling of hunger and therefore rapid weight gain. She said he’s at risk of a “heart attack” on The Katie Price Show, which she hosts with sister Sophie.
“He’s just under 30st and that’s huge,” she explained. “He’s on the verge of a heart attack. He won’t have a long life if he carries on putting more and more weight on.”
She said Harvey’s weight is “so life-threatening now” and that she’s working with doctors to try and improve things for her son. She wants to put him on a weight-loss drug to help him.
She said on Snapchat: “It’s so sad his quality of life at the moment where he’s so big, he just can’t really do much. It’s just another thing I have to deal with because he’s at high risk of having a heart attack, he struggles to put his trainers or struggles to walk anywhere but I love him and I’m going to help him through this.”
