Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s relationship has come to an end, according to a statement from the pair’s representatives.

The reps told US Weekly: “Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”

Before the reps confirmed the split, a source told the publication that the couple have parted ways amicably. They said: “Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”

Orlando appeared to hint at the split when he reposted a quote from Carl Gustav Jung on his Instagram stories on July 2, which stated: “Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself.”

This followed a post on June 30 in which he shared a Buddha quote saying: “Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most.”

Before their official split was announced, Orlando’s social media activity had already hinted at a break-up, and he was spotted attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding solo.

The 40 year old singer was performing in Adelaide, Australia, on June 30, where she appeared visibly emotional as she concluded her set. In videos shared on social media, Katy seemed to be holding back tears as she thanked the audience, forming a heart shape with her hands above her head.

She told the crowd: “Thank you for always being there for me, Australia. It means the world.”

After composing herself, Katy then launched into her hit song, Firework.

The couple first started dating in 2016 and briefly split after a year, before rekindling their relationship in 2018. They got engaged in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, in 2020.

Their break up came during a difficult time for the pop star, who left American Idol after seven seasons to focus on new music.

Her most recent album ignited considerable controversy due to her decision to work with Dr. Luke again, following Ke$ha’s allegations against him. Katy then faced further backlash after joining five other women on a Blue Origin space mission that attracted widespread criticism.
