The interesting figures come as the band get ready to go on tour across the country after 16 years apart with fans split on which of Oasis’s studio albums are the best
Oasis fans are warring over which of the band’s studio albums is best.
The Gallagher brother fanatics are – predictably – largely split between the group’s 1994 debut record Definitely Maybe and the 1996 follow-up (What’s the Story) Morning Glory.
Each of the albums is equally adored by around a third of Oasis fans, with 30% going with the first album and 28% the second.
An Ipsos poll on Oasis fans’ views also showed another 13% of the group’s followers admitted they don’t have a favourite.
Only 6% chose the band’s third studio album Be Here Now as their favourite – while 8% picked The Masterplan.
And 3% picked Heathen Chemistry, 3% Don’t Believe The Truth, 4% Dig Out Your Soul and 5% Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants.
But the “best Oasis album” rows could be settled by the fans listening to 58-year-old songwriter Noel Gallagher’s views on the band’s up-and-down output.
He has repeatedly named Definitely Maybe as his top Oasis album – and has said he is outraged when followers only buy Morning Glory and not the first record.
Noel has also said Be Here Now is simply “the sound of a bunch of guys on coke, in the studio, not giving a f***”– and largely dismissed the rest of the group’s work.
The figures come as the band get ready to go on tour across the country.
Fans are going mad fer it as they prepare to finally see their heroes on stage after 16 years apart.
And one mega fan who has splashed over £14,000 on the band is plotting to camp overnight in a bid to finally get face to face with Liam Gallagher.
John Smallbones, 50, said he plans to spend the night before their July 26 gig sleeping in his Oasis-themed van to ensure he’s first in line when the gates open.
