EXCLUSIVE: Rock N’ roll favourite Yungblud is going from ruling the charts to saving live music by opening his very own venue in a London hotspot
Stadium punk star Yungblud is opening his own music venue – and I can reveal its central London location.
The club will be at 20 Denmark Street, the Soho area famed for supplying generations of musical instruments, and where Yungblud intends his fans can hang out.
Yungblud told me: “It’s opening this year.
“I want people to hang out, meet and have a physical space to make real connections in this virtual world.
“There will be a leopard pool table downstairs.
“My biggest dream is to have clubs all over the world where my fanbase can hang out, seven days a week, open all day and at night.
“London is hopefully just the first one.”
The club follows Yungblud’s own festival which returned to Milton Keynes Bowl last month for a second year, alongside new album Idols.
Yungblud also appeared at Black Sabbath’s final gig at Villa Park last week to celebrate “uncle” Ozzy Osbourne’s last live concert.
There he presented Oz with a bespoke necklace, three years after Ozzy gave him his own cross on a chain.
Fresh from an impromptu gig at Pryzym in Kingston on Tuesday the rocker enthused: “It was time for me to return the favour and let him know what he and the band means to me.
“I hope I can last as long in music as Ozzy has, because that’s the dream for any artist.
“That’s what Ozzy can show when he’s at the Pearly Gates, or wherever it is we go.”
Many of Yungblud’s heroes, including Metallica and Guns N’ Roses were at the gig and Yungblud admitted: “The whole day was 13-year-old me’s dream.”
It was a huge success too – The event raised a whopping £140 million for charity.
Rage Against The Machine star Tom Morello acted as event’s director, and he revealed: “We raised a ton of money for a great cause and so many great musicians, bands and fans all over the world paid tribute to the all time greats.”
Profits will be equally split between Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Cure Parkinson’s, and Midlands-based Acorns Children’s Hospice.
