Love Island star Finley Tapp, who won the ITV2 show in 2020 with ex Paige Turley, has announced that he is going to be a dad. The footballer shared the happy news on social media
Former Love Island champion Finley Tapp has joyfully announced that he and his girlfriend are expecting their first child. The couple broke the news today, receiving a flood of congratulations from fellow reality TV stars.
Finn, 25, who clinched the winter series with ex-girlfriend Paige Turley in 2020, shared the news in a joint Instagram post with his partner Jess. Their caption read: “We can’t wait to meet you! Our hearts are so full.”
The post featured a collection of photos, including a black and white image of Jess, who made their relationship public last year, cradling her baby bump beneath a T-shirt while holding a string of ultrasound photos.
Another snap showed the couple beaming as Finn’s partner held up the scans. The post also included a photo of positive pregnancy tests, as well as another showing “baby” and a heart painted on a wall.
The post quickly garnered over 40,000 likes within a few hours and the couple were showered with well wishes in the comments section, including messages from other Love Island winners, reports the Mirror.
Liam Reardon commented: “Massive congratulations both.” Kai Fagan added: “Congrats mate.”
Molly Smith, who won All Stars last year, chimed in with: “Congratulations.”
Other Love Islanders also shared their congratulations, with pregnant Shaughna Phillips writing: “Omg congratulations! ! ! ! !” Joe Garratt added: “Love you brother. Congrats you two!” Ciaran Davies and Andrew Le Page were among the others who congratulated the couple following the announcement.
Finley, a former semi-professional footballer who played for teams such as Oxford City and Milton Keynes Dons, won the sixth series of Love Island in 2020 alongside his then-partner Paige, now 27. After leaving the show, the couple continued their relationship but eventually split up three years later.
Confirming their break up on Love Island’s Aftersun in 2023, Paige told host Maya Jama: “We’re still really good friends. It was just … I think we drifted apart.”
The former couple later appeared on MTV’s Celebrity Ex On The Beach, where Paige suggested they had become “very different people” and that Finn had “grown up” since their time on Love Island.
Finn agreed, saying: “I have. When we done Love Island I was way too young to do that show. I was just like very naive to the world.”
Finn has since found love with Jess. The pair made their relationship public last summer and have kept fans in the loop ever since, including a significant announcement last month.
Just weeks ago, he shared that they had become homeowners, stating: “Today we picked up the keys to our little Victorian home! We cannot wait to get started with the renovations and make it our own! We couldn’t be happier.”
