Oasis took to the stage this evening for the second of their five shows in their home city and Liam Gallagher appeared to reference a deleted social media post

Liam Gallagher seemed to reference a controversial deleted social media post during his performance at Heaton Park. The post, which Liam apologised for at the time, saw one die-hard fan sell her ticket in response.

Oasis graced the stage tonight for the second of their five gigs in their hometown. As he prepared to perform Some Might Say on the second night, Liam addressed the crowd, seemingly alluding to a social media post from earlier this month.

He said: “Gotta wear the shades tonight, didn’t wear them last night, woke up this morning like a grasshopper? You’re allowed to say grasshopper, right?”

On July 1, the Oasis frontman used an offensive term often employed to mock or imitate languages spoken in China or people of East Asian descent. He subsequently removed the post and issued an apology, stating: “Sorry if I offended anyone. It wasn’t intentional you know I love you all and I do not discriminate. peace and love LG x.”

One fan chose to sell her ticket to the opening night of the Live ’25 tour in Cardiff, expressing that she was ‘completely heartbroken’. The Oasis Live ’25 tour was announced last August, two days prior to the 30th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe.

It marked the largest concert launch ever witnessed in the UK and Ireland.

An astounding 10million people attempted to secure tickets for their UK and Ireland tour, as fans faced skyrocketing ticket prices due to dynamic pricing and other sales complications.

This summer, Liam, Noel and Bonehead, along with Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Joey Waronker, will perform 19 dates across the UK and Ireland in cities such as Cardiff, London, Edinburgh and Dublin, before embarking on a series of international gigs later this year.

After tonight’s performance, the band will return to Heaton Park on Wednesday, with two additional shows scheduled for next weekend – concluding their five-date stint here.
