A source from the BBC has reportedly said that presenter John Torode was fired from MasterChef after a report found he had used an “extremely offensive racist term”
John Torode has been sacked from MasterChef after allegedly using the ‘worst racial slur there is’, it was reported today.
John Torode has been sacked from MasterChefhas also been accused of lying about claims he wasn’t informed of his sacking before it was publicly announced this week.
The Beeb stated that the presenter’s contract wouldn’t be renewed following a report that found he had used an “extremely offensive racist term” during post-filming drinks.
However, both the corporation and Mr Torode have kept quiet on what the slur was, sparking rampant online speculation that it could be the N-word.
John has claimed that has “absolutely no recollection” of using a racial slur and does “not believe that it happened”.
He wrote oneline: “Although I haven’t heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay – I am seeing and reading that I’ve been ‘sacked’ from MasterChef and I repeat that I have no recollection of what I’m accused of.”
There were also claims made that the BBC and Banijay asked the Australian TV star to leave MasterChef, citing mental health issues as the reason for his departure.
However, the BBC has not to commented on the allegations.
Though a source revealed: “The BBC and Banijay spoke to his reps before the announcement on Tuesday. The BBC never suggested he resign nor raised mental health.”
