Billie Eilish has jumped to Drake’s defence for texting her, blasting the naysayers by saying that people are “so sensitive”.
The 18-year-old, who recently bagged five Grammys, revealed last year that she and the Canadian rapper, 34, had been exchanging messages – a confession that didn’t sit well with some.
Discussing her friendship with the star – 15 years her senior – the Bad Girls hitmaker criticised the internet for scrutinising the texts, and simply explaining why can’t “people be a fan of an artist?”
“The internet is such a stupid-a** mess right now,” she told US Vogue.

“Everybody’s so sensitive. A grown man can’t be a fan of an artist?
“There are so many people that the internet should be more worried about.
“Like, you’re really going to say that Drake is creepy because he’s a fan of mine, and then you’re going to go vote for Trump? What the f*** is that s***?”

It’s not the first time Drake’s texting habits have been thrust into the spotlight.
Last year, the God’s Plan singer faced backlash after it was revealed he had started messaging Stranger Things’ actress Millie Bobbie Brown, 15.
The pair first met while backstage at a concert in Australia in 2017 and struck up an unlikely friendship soon after.

During her Emmy appearance in 2018, the starlett admitted they text each other on a regular basis.
Speaking to Access Hollywood on the red carpet, she said: “I love him,” she said, adding that he is “a great friend and a great role model.”
“We just texted each other the other day and he was like ‘I miss you so much,’ and I was like ‘I miss you more,’ he’s great.”
