This year’s BRIT Awards could be stripped of dozens of celebrities after bosses slashed the number of tickets in a bid to boost ratings.
Top brass at the UK’s main music awards show have decided to rip out a number of seats and instead make the performance stage bigger in the hope it will result in a better show.
Awards across the globe have suffered plunging ratings in recent times – with Sunday’s Oscars suffering its lowest ever figures.
Now BRITs big-wigs have decided to splash the cash and double the stage size at this years awards on Tuesday in a bid to up production value on the evening.

A source told Daily Star Online: “Bosses are determined to go all out in terms of production and the show this year.
“This year they have doubled the stage size in order to allow for bigger and better performances than ever before.”
However, while the move is no doubt sure to help produce one of the most visually appealing shows ever, the decision has caused a knock on effect of creating a shortage of table seats.
This means that many celebs who have become accustomed to the exclusive invites have been struggling to wangle them.

In the past, non-music guests including Charlotte Crosby, Holly Hagan and Gemma Atkinson have all enjoyed top seats.
The source added: “As a knock on result their are less tables for industry bigwigs and celebs.
“This has meant that some stars who may have managed to wangle a table ticket have had to be cut.”
Next week, the BRITs, which is celebrating its 40th year, will see some of the biggest entertainers in the world perform at London’s O2 Arena.
Harry Styles, Stormzy, Sir Rod Stewart, Lizzo, Mabel and Lewis Capaldi will all be taking to the stage during the evening.

Meanwhile, comedian Jack Whitehall will return to host the show once more.
It will be the first time Harry has performed at the event as a solo artist since X Factor supergroup One Direction went their separate ways.
The heartthrob is tipped to have a bumper night after being nominated for two gongs.
Harry has been nominated for Album of the Year and Male Solo Artist.
A rep for The BRITS 2020 declined to comment.
