Milla Jovovich's Daughter Ever Anderson to Transform Into Wendy in 'Peter Pan'

    Instagram

The 12-year-old actress, who can also be seen in the upcoming ‘Black Widow’ movie, will star opposite lead actor Alexander Molony in the highly-anticipated movie.
    Mar 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Milla Jovovich’s daughter Ever Anderson, 12, has been cast as Wendy in the upcoming live-action remake of “Peter Pan”.
According to Variety, Ever has signed on to portray the female lead in the highly anticipated film, opposite Alexander Molony as Peter.
This won’t be the first acting gig for Ever, the daughter of Milla and director Paul W.S. Anderson, as she’s already starred as a younger version of her mother’s character in “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”, and can soon be seen playing a younger Scarlett Johansson in “Black Widow”.
Speaking to Britain’s The Independent newspaper recently about her daughter’s acting ambitions and appearing in the “Resident Evil” movie, Milla said: “She’s very serious about acting and has worked very hard. She goes to classes and learns her lines so I had no objections about her playing a young me in the film, with no dialogue or anything, just a day of work.”
However, she added: “I understand why people don’t want their kids to do it. When she first asked, I just kept putting obstacles in her path, but after she showed me her commitment and hard work, what am I going to do?”
The live-action “Peter Pan” will be helmed by Pete’s Dragon director David Lowery, who also co-wrote the script alongside Toby Halbrooks.
A release date has yet to be confirmed, but Variety noted that the film will hit cinemas, rather than being released solely on Disney’s streaming service Disney+.

Kevin Hart Throws Playful Jab at Dwayne Johnson Over Filming of Action Scenes

    WENN/JRP

The ‘Ride Along’ star suggests that his ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ co-star is coward, unlike him and other notorious action film stars like Tom Cruise who have dangerous stunts in their movies.
    Mar 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kevin Hart is throwing another playful jab at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. When sharing a behind-the-scene look at his preparation to film action scenes for his upcoming Quibi series “Die Hart”, the stand-up-comedian-turned-actor mocked his “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” co-star by calling him a “pu**y”.
The one-minute clip posted on Instagram began with the 40-year-old listening to Eric Appel’s direction on how the stunt will go. Standing close behind him was his stunt double Samuel Jaye Paul. “You know, the only people that they task with stunts like this are the real deal. Me, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford… that’s just to name a few,” he then bragged. “The rest of those guys are pu**ies.”
Not stopping there, the “Ride Along” actor went on to name the retired WWE wrestler-turned-action man. “Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. If they only knew, right? What a b***h,” he said as Appel and Paul went along with his mockery. He titled the video post, “Life of an ‘Action Star’ “, with a note that read, “Stunt work on the set of my ‘Die Hart’ series.”

Many were not surprised by Hart’s jab at Johnson. “Why I knew he was talking bout the Rock,” one wrote back, while another admitted, “I knew u were gona mention Dwayne. Hahaha.” Others were excited to see the two stars’ banter with one writing, “Just waiting for the Rock’s reply.” One in particular, however, could not help but notice at the height difference between Hart and his double. “You’d think they could have found a child actor to get the height correct,” the fan quipped.
This was not the first time Hart has made fun of his co-star and best friend. Last Halloween, he recreated Johnson’s throwback picture. “This s**t makes me laugh. #NailedIt #HappyHalloween #PeepTheNapkinUnderMyElbow,” he captioned the side-by-side images of the them donning matching outfits while their arms resting on the railing.
To the playful post, Johnson responded, “You’re an a**hole. But I still love you. And I’m still laughing #brotherlylove #happyhalloween.”

Mark Wahlberg Favored to Take Lead Role in 'G.I. Joe' Reboot

    WENN/Avalon

The ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ star has reportedly been on the top of producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura’s casting list since 2009’s ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’.
    Mar 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Mark Wahlberg has emerged as movie bosses’ favourite to take over the lead role in a planned “G.I. Joe” reboot.
Paramount Pictures executives are revamping the franchise once more, and they are reportedly keen to land the “Transformers: Age of Extinction” star to portray soldier Conrad S. Hauser, also known as Duke, sources tell WeGotThisCovered.com.
Wahlberg had previously been top of producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura’s casting list when he first began working on 2009’s “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra”, but the gig went to Channing Tatum, who reprised the character for the 2013 follow-up, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation”.
Few details are known about the next “G.I. Joe” project, tentatively titled “G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant”, but it’s believed Snake Eyes, another character from Hasbro’s line of action figures, will also feature.
“Crazy Rich Asians” actor Henry Golding is expected to return as Snake Eyes, after tackling the part in an upcoming origin story of the same name, which is set for release this October.

Fans Slam SXSW and Ultra Music Fest for No Refund Option Following Cancellation Due to Coronavirus

Fans are clearly not satisfied with the policy with someone urging SXSW to update its policy on Twitter, writing, ‘How was anyone suppose to predict an epidemic canceling @sxsw when buying tickets last year.’
    Mar 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Austin’s SXSW and Miami’s Ultra Music Fest were among festivals that decided to scrap off their plans amid Coronavirus outbreak. In addition to the cancellation, fans of both events further feel disappointed as they will seemingly not receive refunds from the festivals.
According to a Reddit post, Ultra sent an email to ticket holders which said that “ALL tickets purchased” will “be honored at either the 2021 or 2022 Ultra Miami event.” The email also notified the ticket holders that they have 30 days to choose which event they will attend.
Meanwhile, the city of Austin revealed in a letter to SXSW badge holders that refunds would not be issued. However, 2020 registrants “can opt to defer their registration to 2021, 2022, or 2023.”
The festival further explained in its refund policy, “SXSW does not issue refunds under any circumstances. Any and all payments made to SXSW are not refundable for any reason, including, without limitation, failure to use Credentials due to illness, acts of God, travel-related problems, acts of terrorism, loss of employment and/or duplicate purchases. SXSW will not issue refunds for Credentials that have been revoked.”
Fans were clearly not satisfied with the policy with someone urging SXSW to update its policy on Twitter. “How was anyone suppose to predict an epidemic canceling @sxsw when buying tickets last year. This no refund policy needs to take into consideration that the event was cancelled by the city and a lot of people didn’t decide to cancel their tickets. @sxsw please update your policy,” the person tweeted on Tuesday, March 10.
Another user added, “I’m ashamed of @sxsw – as citizens from the city it’s f***ing horrific you wouldn’t refund tickets to hard working people around the world who wanted to support you. Good luck coming back from this.”
Ultra was also slammed for the same reason. One comment read, “This is for @ultra you big fat white nasty smellin fat b***h why you took me off the mothaf***in schedule wit cho triflin dirty white racist a** big fat b***h oompa loompa body a** b***h I’m comin up there and I’m gon beat the f**k outta you b***h run me my f***ing refund.”
Another fan gave Ultra his “official notice” that read, “Dear @Ultra, While we begrudgingly understand this is out of your control, the business you choose to practice is not. If you don’t do right by your ‘Ultranauts’ and refund us our money, we will never support you again. Signed, Ultranauts.”

J.J. Abrams Plainly Refuses to Kill C-3PO in 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker'

    WENN/Sheri Determan

During an appearance on ‘The View’, Anthony Daniels gets candid about the director’s reaction to his suggestion to put his iconic humanoid robot to sleep for good.
    Mar 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Director J.J. Abrams refused to listen to “Star Wars” actor Anthony Daniels when he suggested it was time to kill off his robot character C-3PO in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”.
The veteran Brit is the only “Star Wars” actor to have appeared in all nine of the main films in the sci-fi franchise, and, as Abrams was preparing to wrap up the third and final installment in the Skywalker saga last year (19), Daniels proposed having his humanoid robot put “to sleep” – for good.
But Abrams wasn’t having any of it.
“I said to J.J. when we were filming, ‘Maybe it’s time to put C-3PO to sleep, to give him an end,’ ” Daniels shared on U.S. talk show “The View”, “and he said, ‘Not on my watch!'”
The 74-year-old is famed for his work as the gold droid, but Daniels admits he came close to missing out on the iconic role when he was first approached back in the 1970s, because he thought it would be disastrous for his acting career.
    “I wasn’t apprehensive – I just didn’t want it! I was insulted!” he confessed.
“I was a serious actor. The thought of being in a robot suit, disguised, in science fiction? Back in the day, that wasn’t very popular.”
However, he was soon convinced to give the movie a shot after being presented with artist renderings of George Lucas’ creation, and the rest is history.

“What I did see was… a production still of how the character might look…,” Daniels said. “I stared at that picture and it’s totally changed my life.”

'Peter Rabbit 2' Follows 'No Time to Die' Lead in Postponing Release Date Over Coronavirus

    Sony Pictures

Initially scheduled for a theatrical release of March 27 across the country, ‘Peter Rabbit’ sequel ‘The Runaway’ has been pushed back for more than four months by Sony chiefs.
    Mar 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – The release of family blockbuster “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” has reportedly been delayed until August due to the coronavirus outbreak.
With the crisis caused by the disease escalating across Europe, and Italy placed under lockdown, Sony chiefs are said to have decided to put the release of the film, the follow-up to 2018’s hugely successful “Peter Rabbit”, on ice for more than four months.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will no longer debut on March 27, as planned, and will instead receive an international and U.S. release on August 7.
The move follows the delay to the release of the latest James Bond film, “No Time to Die”, also distributed by Sony, until November.
“Peter Rabbit” and its sequel star James Corden as the voice of author Beatrix Potter’s mischeivious bunny, with Margot Robbie and Elizabeth Debicki also voicing characters, and Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson, and David Oyelowo in live-action roles.
The move comes after Italian officials announced that all its cinemas were to be closed, and other European governments advised people to take precautions to avoid the spread of the virus.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony chiefs made the decision as the first “Peter Rabbit” made $236 million (£180 million) of its $351 million (£269 million) box office outside North America, and that the U.S. release of the follow-up has reportedly been shifted to avoid piracy.

Tracy Letts Spills How He Joined Wife Carrie Coon in 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife'

    WENN/Instar

The ‘Lady Bird’ actor claims to be in the right place at the right time when writer/director Jason Reitman was looking for someone to fill a small part in the new movie.
    Mar 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tracy Letts has snagged a “small part” alongside his actress wife Carrie Coon in the new “Ghostbusters” movie.
The “Lady Bird” actor and playwright reveals he was in the right place at the right time when writer/director Jason Reitman was looking for someone to fill a role in “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”, which was filmed in Calgary, Canada.
“My wife Carrie is in… the new ‘Ghostbusters’ movie coming out in the summer, and we were there in Calgary while she was shooting it, and a role became available, and so I was able to jump in and play a small part in it myself,” he said.
The project will also feature Paul Rudd, “Stranger Things” star Finn Wolfhard and “Gifted” actress Mckenna Grace, as well as guest appearances by original franchise stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts, but Letts is unable to share any details about the film’s plot or the character he plays.
Joking about the secrecy surrounding the movie, he told U.S. breakfast show “Today”, “Here’s what I can tell you: nothing! Absolutely nothing!”

“Ghostbusters: Afterlife” is set to launch in July.

Billie Lourd Deals With Bittersweet Emotion Standing In for Carrie Fisher in 'The Rise of Skywalker'

    WENN/Joe

The Lieutenant Connix depicter in the latest ‘Star Wars’ movie reminisces the time she helped director J.J. Abrams and his team complete the sequences involving her late mother’s iconic character.
    Mar 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Actress Billie Lourd endured a full rollercoaster of emotions on the set of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker after agreeing to stand in for her late mother Carrie Fisher.
The veteran star, famed for her role as Princess Leia, died unexpectedly in December, 2016, but director J.J. Abrams was able to cut together unused footage of Fisher from 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” to resurrect her character for key scenes in the recent “The Rise of Skywalker”.
Lourd, who portrays Resistance member Lieutenant Connix in the sci-fi blockbusters, helped Abrams and his team complete the sequences by taking part in the Leia shoots, and she admits it was truly bittersweet to fill in for her mum.
“It’s literally like a gift from her, or her forcing us to make her the star of the movie – probably both!” she laughed in new behind-the-scenes documentary, “The Skywalker Legacy”.
Lourd added, “Being back has been incredible, painful, surreal – all of the adjectives that you can come up with, probably, I felt.”
Abrams later used Fisher’s earlier film clips to digitally replace the 27 year old’s face with that of her mother.
Production on “The Rise of Skywalker”‘s Princess Leia scenes was also an emotional experience for leading lady Daisy Ridley, who needed to collect herself after filming.
“The reality of having to do a scene with someone who isn’t actually there was very difficult,” the Brit shared. “I sort of had to walk off and have a moment.”
And Abrams insists he will forever be grateful to Lourd for giving him her blessing to bring Fisher back from the dead onscreen.
“To know that we were doing this with her at our side, that’s something that I will always be grateful to her for,” the director said.

“The Skywalker Legacy”, which details how filmmakers incorporated unused Fisher footage into the latest movie, will be released to coincide with the digital launch of “The Rise of Skywalker” on March 17.
