Mulatto Uses Nicki Minaj's Verse to Further Taunt Renni Rucci

    Instagram

The feud between the two hip-hop stars starts after Mulatto drops a freestyle to SpottemGottem’s popular ‘BeatBox’ track on which she is believed to shade the South Carolina raptress.

    Mar 15, 2021
AceShowbiz – The beef between Mulatto and Renni Rucci is further heating up. On Sunday, March 14, the former took to her Instagram account to share a clip featuring Nicki Minaj to continue throwing shade at the “Solid Chick” raptress.
In the said video, Nicki was spitting bars from her remix of YG’s 2014 track “My N***a”. “Drop a freestyle and get a rise out of b****es,” Nicki raps on the track.

The feud between the two hip-hop stars started after Mulatto dropped a freestyle to SpottemGottem’s popular “BeatBox” track on which she was believed to shade Renni, whose name on Twitter was “The Biggest.” On Mulatto’s take on the song, the “Queen of da Souf” raps, “I’m the biggest. Ain’t nothing big about y’all hoes! So if the b***h name ain’t Latto, don’t put ‘Big’ in front of it. Straight up.”
It didn’t take long before Rucci reacted to the apparent shade. The South Carolina rapper debuted her new “Beat Box” freestyle as a clapback song at Mulatto. “You talk s**t on the sleep but b***h we all know who the biggest is,” she rapped. “I been countin’ Benjamins, look like I hit the lotto, b***h, you know just what the business is, I really hit the Latto.”

Rucci shared a clip of the track on her Instagram page, writing in the caption, “if it ain’t directed it ain’t respected. lil mama popping it tho.” She also insisted on Twitter, “My social media names BEEN this we all rappers so let us rap watch out.”

Her beef aside, Mulatto previously made headlines after being accused of colorism after allegedly saying that colorism isn’t real during an interview on Clubhouse. “So Mulatto said that colorism doesn’t exist but goes by Mulatto…am I understanding correctly?” one critic wrote on Twitter late last year. Another person added, “Mulatto digging herself in a bigger hole than she thinks.”
Seemingly tired of defending Mulatto, a fan said, “ok mulatto baby i can’t defend you anymore you just digging yourself a bigger hole every week.” Another user added, “You should just automatically assume any person calling themselves ‘Mulatto’ is a colorist…. Like, you couldn’t come up with something else, Miss. Lousiana Purchase??” referring to a racial term for people of mixed white and black ancestry.
However, Mulatto was quick to set the record straight. “I WOULD NEVER SAY NO S**t LIKE COLORISM DOESN’T EXIST!” the femcee said on Twitter. In another tweet, she went on to urge, “Please stop with the false narrative!”

Fiona Apple Skips Grammy Awards to 'Stay Sober'

    Facebook

The ‘Shameika’ singer, who wins in two categories at the 63rd annual awards show, divulges that she doesn’t feel safe ‘to be in that kind of exposure, scrutiny [and] comparison to people.’

    Mar 15, 2021
AceShowbiz – Fiona Apple spilled on the reason why she skipped the 2021 Grammy Awards. The “Shameika” songstress, who won in two categories at the 63rd annual awards show, revealed that she did not attend the biggest night in music in order for her to “stay sober.”
The 43-year-old singer-songwriter made the revelation in an Instagram video shared by filmmaker and friend Zelda Hallman. In the Saturday, March 13 post, she first explained, “I’m not gonna be at the Grammys. It’s not because I’m trying to protest even though I have problems with the Grammys.”
“It’s just really because I don’t want to be on national television,” she went on. “I’m just not made for that kind of stuff. I wanna stay sober and I can’t do that sober. It doesn’t feel safe to me to be in that kind of exposure, scrutiny [and] comparison to people.”
Despite skipping the coveted event, the “Criminal” singer hoped “everybody who is into the Grammys has a wonderful time watching them and a wonderful time enjoying all the performances.” She further noted, “And, I hope the people who want to win, win.”

Fiona won Best Rock Performance for “Shameika” and Best Alternative Music Album for “Fetch the Bolt Cutters” at the Premiere Ceremony of the 2021 Grammys. She, however, lost to Brittany Howard in the Best Rock Song category.
Aside from speaking about the Grammys, Fiona also urged fans to sign a petition to keep virtual courts access open. “What really, really is undeniably important is the transparency in the courtrooms and for that reason, I want to ask anybody who’s looking at this to please sign this petition to keep the virtual access open for court watchers,” she pleaded in her video.

“Specifically for PG [Prince George] County, Maryland which is the court-watching group that I’m part of,” she added. “They’re trying to shut us out and you gotta question it like why are you trying to shut us out? What don’t you want us to see?”

Artist of the Week: Madison Beer

    Instagram

The singer finds her voice again and shows her potential as a musician with her long-awaited debut album ‘Life Support’ following the hard lessons she learned in the industry.

    Mar 15, 2021
AceShowbiz – Madison Beer found her “Life support” in debut album. Almost nine years after gaining instant fame on the web following Justin Bieber’s approval of her rendition of Etta James’ “At Last”, the singer finally dropped a collection of songs that she’s most proud of.
Multiple tracks in the album raked in over 1 million streams on Spotify. One of the standouts, a sultry breakup song called “Selfish”, received Gold certification for selling half a million unit since Valentine’s Day release and reached No. 19 on Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles. Meanwhile, the album rose to No. 28 in U.K. and 23 in Canada.
The 22-year-old star actually had been working on her first album since her YouTube days, but numerous setbacks including her struggles with mental health and creative differences with label and then-manager Scooter Braun forced her to take a step back.

The brunette beauty felt like a “cash cow” when everyone around her told her what to do without bothering to listen to her opinions. After releasing several bubblegum songs like “Melodies” and “Unbreakable”, she realized she wanted something with more substance.
“No one was on the same page as me. They wanted me to be ‘Melodies’ and teeny bop, and I was like, ‘No!’ I wanted to punch everyone and break out of the shell, but I was restricted by my age,” Madison opened up about her early career to Elite Daily in a recent interview.
She eventually found her voice again with her 2018 independent mini album fittingly titled “As She Pleases”. It propelled her into the top 10 on U.S. Independent Albums chart and gave her first Gold plaque with empowerment anthem “Home With You”.
While she’s no longer an independent artist when releasing “Life Support”, she made sure she continued to have full control over her art. The album was packed with messages about relationships and life lessons that she conveyed beautifully with her sultry voice.

Tim Burgess Admits to Be Working on Solo Album During COVID-19 Lockdown

    Instagram

Though he has been busy recording fresh songs at Rockfield Studios in Wales, the lead singer of The Charlatans assures that his band will start to work on new album as soon as they are able to meet up.

    Mar 15, 2021
AceShowbiz – Tim Burgess is holed up in a studio in Wales during lockdown, recording a new solo album.
The 53-year-old singer has been busy during the COVID-19 lockdown hosting #TimsTwitterListeningParty nights, which has seen music stars such as Sir Paul McCartney, Iron Maiden, Liam Gallagher and Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp all answer fans’ questions on the social media site during listen-alongs of their albums.
But Tim is not just content with being a social media sensation and has been busy penning tracks for another LP and he has been busy recording his fresh songs at Rockfield Studios in Wales.
Spilling on his new project on the “Rockonteurs” podcast, he said, “I’ve been at Rockfield in Wales, all wearing masks and that. I’m doing a solo record. I’m with two others, they’re both engineers and producers. One is more electronic and the other one plays drums, it’s a nice combination.”

      See also…

“I’ve got quite a lot of songs. I do them all on voice memos really, on my phone. Sometimes I’ll use a drum beat from a YouTube tutorial just to keep me in time. I just write at home and try and do it every day and see what comes out really.”
But Tim has assured fans of The Charlatans that they are not done and says as soon as lockdown measures are lifted they will all meet up and start work on another album, their first since 2017’s “Different Days”.
Admitting he wanted to keep busy on a solo project before the “One To Another” band get together again, he said, “The Charlatans is a completely different thing. We all get together and bring things, unfinished things, together and see if it kind of works. With my stuff I write the songs, and then try and work out the best way for people to be able to listen to them.”
“In this situation [COVID] it’s easier than saving them than waiting for the band.”
“The band will meet very quickly, as soon as lockdown is over. I think we’ve always tried to be open with what The Charlatans can sound like, what would be amazing would be to all find out together; the audience to find out what kind of sound we’re going to make, the band to find out what kind of sound we’re going to make. We don’t know and that’s the good thing.”
