'RHOA' Reunion: Eva Marcille and NeNe Leakes Get Into Screaming Match

    Bravo

The other cast members are stunned with how things escalate between NeNe and Eva before host and executive producer Andy Cohen decides to mute NeNe’s video feed.
    May 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” finally aired the first part of season 12 reunion, which saw the Housewives filming from their own houses. The Sunday, May 10 episode featured Porsha Williams going after Kenya Moore as she brought a lot of receipts, while NeNe Leakes and Eva Marcille were exchanging insults like there is no tomorrow.
The tension between NeNe and Eva rose after the latter interjected herself into every argument throughout the hour. “This isn’t your fight,” NeNe told Eva, who later responded, “Sweetheart, it’s whatever I want it to be.”
NeNe then shaded Eva about wanting to turn her plumb into a peach, alluding that she wanted to be the main character on the Bravo show. That appeared to trigger Eva who then reminded NeNe that “I was on the red carpet you were trying to get on when I met you.” Before she finished her sentence, NeNe yelled, “Nobody cares about you being on a carpet 17 years ago,” referring to Eva’s “America’s Next Top Model” win back in 2004.
The two continued to take a jab at each other. Eva claimed that she was “the face of a cosmetic line,” but NeNe said that Eva was “broke” when she came to Atlanta. “All you can talk about is ‘Top Model’, and that was the last time you was on top. You’re a freshman, b***h. Remember that!” added NeNe, before demanding that Eva respected “the elders” and went “back to L.A.”
Meanwhile, the other cast members were stunned with how things escalated between NeNe and Eva and host Andy Cohen asked them to move on. However, he was ignored by them, prompting him to mute NeNe’s video feed, much to Porsha’s liking.

As for Kenya and Porsha, the latter brought some text messages in which Kenya allegedly told her that she wanted to take Cynthia Bailey down this season. “So there’s a text from Kenya to you, [Porsha], dogging me out, [and] trying to take me out while Kenya and I have been friends? I don’t believe that.” After sending the said text messages to both Andy and Cynthia, Porsha called Kenya a “fake friend” with “fake receipts.”

    ABC

After the Top 7 finished their performances, season 17 ‘American Idol’ winner, Laine Hardy, returns to the show to close out the Disney segment by singing ‘Life Is A Highway’ from ‘Cars’.
    May 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – “American Idol” returned with a new episode on Sunday, May 10. The new episode revealed the Top 7 who were performing twice that night. They first sang one Disney song before performing a song which they dedicated to the mother figures in their lives to celebrate Mother’s Day.
Arthur Gunn, who was the first contestant revealed to be safe, opened the night with a performance of “Kiss the Girl” from “The Little Mermaid”. It was so good that the judges, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, called him a “potential superstar singer.”

Following it up was Just Sam who offered a stunning performance of “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from “Cinderella”. Also joining others in the Top 7 was Jonny West, who belted out “Almost There” from “The Princess & The Frog” as he showed off his piano skills.

Louis Knight was the next contestant to make it to the Top 7. He performed “The Lion King” classic “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”. Fellow Top 7 singer Julia Gargano then sang the title track from “Beauty and the Beast”. The judges thought that it was a little “low” for her range, but that didn’t change the fact that the performance “was amazing.”

The last singers who were revealed to be among the Top 7 were Francisco Martin and Dillon James. Francisco opted to sing “You’ll Be In My Heart” from “Tarzan”, while Dillon performed “Cars” OST titled “Our Town”.

‘Billions’ Season 5, Episode 2 Recap: Step Up to the Mike

Season 5, Episode 2: ‘The Chris Rock Test’Welcome to the Mike Conference, named with characteristic humility by its founder, decabillionaire Mike Prince. It’s a place for fireside chats that double as vicious duels, for charitable acts that serve to ameliorate an exponentially larger number of uncharitable ones, and for the occasional late-night excursion to a strip club that doubles as a Wagner family reunion.Yes, Wags discovers the hard way that his daughter (Wags has adult children?!) is a stripper, thus failing “The Chris Rock Test” that gives the episode its name. He gets over it, more or less. He wouldn’t be Wags if he didn’t.But just as the Mike Conference was really about making deals, so too was Wags and Bobby Axelrod’s ayahuasca excursion from the season premiere a business trip (emphasis on trip). Bobby is aiming to move into the “psychoceuticals” sector, so he and Wags spend their off hours at the conference buttering up Simon Shenk (played by the “Ozark” and “Affair” veteran Darren Goldstein), who looks poised to become the next head of the F.D.A. Impressed with Bobby and Wags’s acquaintance with the shaman Bram Longriver (Henri Binje), he seems poised to greenlight the practice and thus line their pockets. But Mike Prince gets there first. Just as the conference is wrapping up with one last dinner, he presents his guest of honor: Bram Longriver. “You stole my shaman,” Bobby tells Prince hilariously. (It reminded me of one of the best lines in the rock documentary “Dig!”, in which the Brian Jonestown Massacre’s lead singer, Anton Newcombe, angrily declares “You [expletive] broke my sitar, [expletive]!”)Ever the one to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, however, Bobby comes up with a new plan while eyeing a gaggle of banking big shots. Turning Axe Cap into a bank would put his company in line for the “bailouts, bail-ins” and “easings” that keep these institutions afloat through economic downturns. Why put himself through the inevitable lows of life as a trader when he can simply become too big to fail?Chuck’s operation this episode runs comparatively smoothly. His old pal Judge DeGiulio (a perpetually grinning Cheshire cat of a performance by Rob Morrow) wants his help getting confirmed as a circuit court judge, a process gummed up by his unfortunate role in the drafting of a “torture memo” condoning waterboarding. In one of the episode’s more memorable scenes, Chuck undergoes the procedure himself to see if it’s as bad as it’s cracked up to be. Spoiler alert: It is.“It’s torture,” the S&M-enthusiast attorney general sputters miserably as he recovers. “And if even I don’t like it …”But there are more moving pieces than meet the eye. Thanks to Axe’s meddling, Chuck is unceremoniously dumped from the cryptocurrency case he was working on in the premiere by the governor, who favors the Manhattan district attorney’s take-no-prisoners approach. This means that Chuck will need a new major stage on which to perform his acts of legal legerdemain — and what better place than before the Supreme Court? It would be great, then, to have an ally in the solicitor general position, determining which cases go before “the Nine.” (I always hear shades of the nine Black Riders from “The Lord of the Rings” whenever I hear that phrase.) And wouldn’t it be great, then, if Judge DeGiulio became the acting solicitor, circumventing the senator and getting a plum position after all?If you guessed that Chuck is the person who leaked the torture memo in the first place just to set all this in motion, congratulations: You’re as canny as his right-hand woman, Kate Sacker, who observes it all with a sort of cynical awe. (Can awe be cynical? On this show, yeah.)Chuck’s game of hardball doesn’t stop there. He takes the fight directly to his soon-to-be-ex-wife Wendy, freezing her assets to prevent her from buying a new apartment; she winds up continuing to crash at one of Bobby’s spare apartments. And this among the least of Wendy’s concerns. An angry investor from the Ontario Educators’ pension fund comes calling, demanding to know how their money is faring. With Axe out of town, it falls to Wendy to task Taylor Mason Capital’s Lauren (Jade Eshete) with keeping the investor happy — a decision that falls afoul of Mase Cap’s major-domo, Sarah (Samantha Mathis), who sees it as an erosion of her group’s autonomy. (Taylor, too, is out of pocket at the Mike Conference, trying and failing to achieve a rapprochement with ex-boyfriend Oscar Langstraat, played by Mike Birbiglia, who loses a game of speed chess before blowing Taylor off one last time.)A plot summary of any given episode of this incredibly dense and kinetic show can eat up the bulk of any recap’s allotted word count. But to quote one of Bobby Axelrod’s favorite bands, Motörhead, that’s the way I like it, baby. The thrill of “Billions” comes from the feeling that you’re barely keeping up with these people — that, like Oscar Langstraat, you’re playing speed chess against the best in the business and that delaying checkmate as long as possible is its own kind of victory.I don’t want to unravel Chuck and Axe and Taylor and Wendy’s moves before they make them; I want to be wowed when they do. On that count, “Billions” continues to win.Loose change:The episode concludes with a dedication to the actor Mark Blum, who plays Chuck’s therapist in a beautifully restrained scene in which he tries to work past his grief over the dissolution of his partnership with Wendy. Blum died of complications arising from Covid-19; seeing him onscreen again is bittersweet.Bobby makes a great point at Mike Prince’s gathering: Events like this, or Davos, or the Allen & Company conference in Sun Valley aren’t about the conversation, they’re about the invitation. What matters is being asked to attend, not what you do when you get there.Wags offers Bobby a ton of advice on how to pick up a model in the age of #MeToo; both Axe and the model in question promptly blow it off, knowing what they want and knowing how to get it. Ick.The charity that the Mike Conference attendees are expected to support is an earthquake relief effort with the corny, trivializing name, “Shake the Quake.” Again: Ick. More

'RHOA': NeNe Leakes Calls Kenya Moore 'B***h' One Minute Into the Reunion

    Bravo

In a new video from part 1 of the reunion, the Housewives are talking about Kenya’s subdued persona named Ken, the nickname given by Kenya’s estranged husband Marc Daly.
    May 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Season 12 reunion special of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” will arrive soon, but before that, Bravo treats viewers to a sneak-peek at the highly-anticipated virtual reunion. The new clip shows how the ladies start off nicely before things get escalated, especially between rivals NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore.
Obtained by E! News, the video from part 1 of the reunion sees the Housewives talking about Kenya’s subdued persona named Ken, the nickname given by Kenya’s estranged husband Marc Daly. NeNe chimed in, “I actually like Ken, I think Ken is the better person.”
Porsha Williams later quips, “That was slightly a compliment.” NeNe then shares why she likes Ken more than Kenya, noting, “Ken shuts the f**k up.”
The remarks seemingly don’t sit well with Kenya, who quickly claps back, “Well, maybe NeNe should be more like Ken.” The former beauty queen adds, “She needs to learn how to shut the f**k up.”
NeNe claims she “is like Ken,” and when Kenya asks the 52-year-old TV personality to pick one of her “multi-personalities,” NeNe retorts, “Yes, girl! And pick one of your many multi-personalities, Ken!”
“Along with my many talents,” Kenya calmly replies, to which NeNe hotly responds, “Good for you, b***h!” That is only one minute after the show starts, prompting Kenya to joke that the reunion is “ahead of schedule.”
Upon hearing the shade, NeNe adds, “You will be called a b***h every time I see you, every f***ing morning. NeNe always wins! She’s been winning for years, honey.”
In the previous teaser, NeNe was seen walking off the filming following a screaming match between the ladies. She stood up and yelled, “Bye!” before abruptly shutting down her video. That confused the other Housewives as Cynthia Bailey stated that she could no longer see NeNe.
Part 1 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” is set to air on Sunday, May 10 at 8 P.M. on Bravo!

Tyra Banks Owns Up to Resurfacing 'Insensitive' Moment From 'America's Next Top Model'

    WENN

The creator/host of the long-running modeling competition finds herself under fire after a clip from a past episode in which she confronted Dani Evans about the gap in her teeth came out online again.
    May 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tyra Banks has acknowledged she was in the wrong. Finding herself under fire for her past treatment to aspiring models after a series of clips from old “America’s Next Top Model” cycles resurfaced online, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel came forward with a statement in which she accepted her erroneous ways.
“Been seeing the posts about the insensitivity of some past ANTM moments and I agree with you,” the 46-year-old TV personality said in a tweet she posted on Friday, May 8. “Looking back, those were some really off choices.” Though she did not offer an apology, she added, “Appreciate your honest feedback and am sending so much love and virtual hugs.”

Tyra Banks Responded to Backlash Over Insensitive ‘ANTM’ Moment
One of the viral clips many had issued with captured a moment between Tyra and Cycle 6 winner Dani Evans. In it, the former host of “America’s Got Talent” confronted the then-wannabe model about the gap in her teeth. “So, Danielle, you went to the dentist but you refused to have your gap closed,” she said in the footage. “Do you really think you can have a CoverGirl contract with a gap in your mouth?”
Dani lively replied, “Yes, why not?” In response, Tyra put her finger up to her front teeth to mimic having a gap while telling her, “This is all people see. It’s easy, breezy, beautiful CoverGirl. It’s not marketable.” The creator’s statement got Dani relenting as she told the judging panel, “A little bit is ok but I don’t want to completely close it.”
The cringeworthy moment quickly gained attention in the negative way. Model Slick Woods reposted the clip on her Instagram with a caption that read, “No one should ever talk to you like that @danievans1, that episode fucked up little simone/slick so that’s how y’all feel @tyrabanks @miss_jalexander???”

Nightly Pop’s Nina Parker has also weighed in on the issue through a Twitter post. “I remember watching this as a young woman & I felt extremely discouraged to be on TV bc of this scene,” she wrote. “I was disappointed in Tyra then… She ended up pressuring this girl to get dental surgery to be ‘marketable.’ Also my gap & TV contract say HI!”

Nina Parker Blasted Tyra Banks for Insensitive ‘ANTM’ Comment
Dani herself has a few days earlier addressed the controversy in a video she posted on Instagram. “This is a video for me to speak my truth and to provide clarity and for me to address an issue that was done 15 years ago, that carries weight and clearly affected a lot of young girls in America after watching it,” she began explaining.
“I want to address all of those young girls. I’m gonna take this time to build up and to speak to all of my young queens who saw that episode and were truly affected by Tyra’s words,” the 34-year-old continued. She then told those watching her video, “I want to speak to you right now. You’re beautiful. And I’m not talking about a physical feature.”

“It doesn’t matter if you have a gap, stacked teeth, straight teeth, it matters not. It doesn’t matter if you’re black, brown, white, indifferent, other. What makes you beautiful is in here,” she went on delivering her positive message. “I’m speaking to all the little girls. If I could love on all of you right now, I would. I want to remind you of your worth. You’re a masterpiece, you’re so loved, you’re adored and you’re beautiful.”

Donald Glover and 'Community' Cast Snub Chevy Chase for Online Reunion

    NBC

The ‘Community’ cast members are going to reunite for a virtual table read without Chevy Chase who was fired from the show due to his increasingly aggressive and racist antics.
    May 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Donald Glover is reuniting with his “Community” co-stars for a virtual table read, marking his first “Community” cast event since leaving the show.
According to Vulture, the two-time Emmy winner, who played Troy Barnes in the NBC sitcom, will join his former co-stars for a virtual table read of an episode from the show, as well as a special Q&A session, on May 18, 2020.
Glover will be joined by castmates Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Jim Rash, Ken Jeong, and creator Dan Harmon as they revisit the show, about a study group of unlikely friends at a community college, which ended in 2015 after a six-year run.
The only member of the original cast who won’t return is Chevy Chase, who once reportedly told Glover, “People think you’re funnier because you’re black.”
For the reunion, the cast will be reading season five, episode four, “Cooperative Polygraphy”, which takes place after the death Chase’s character Pierce Hawthorne, and was the second-to-last episode Glover would appear in before his character exited the show.
The table read will stream live at 5 P.M. ET on the “Community” YouTube page, raising money for Jose Andres’ World Central Kitchen and Frontline Food, both of which are involved in Covid-19 relief efforts to provide meals to first responders and vulnerable communities across the U.S.
The cast most recently reunited last November, without both Glover and Chase, for Vulture Festival.
