Late Night Laughs Off Trump’s Saying Hosts Have Zero Talent

Welcome to Best of Late Night, a rundown of the previous night’s highlights that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. We’re all stuck at home at the moment, so here are the 50 best movies on Netflix right now.At Least He’s ConsistentIn an interview published Tuesday, President Trump told The New York Post that he would most likely skip this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, reciting his usual complaints about unfair treatment from the press. He singled out the 2011 host, Seth Meyers, calling him “a no-talent comic” and “nasty,” before saying that both Meyers and Stephen Colbert, host of “The Late Show,” are unfunny. Trump followed with a tweet praising the Fox News host Greg Gutfeld and taking a swipe at Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel. A few of the hosts responded to the president in their Tuesday night monologues.Wow! Congratulations to Greg Gutfeld, a one time Trump Hater who has come all the way home. His Ratings easily beat no talent Stephen Colbert, nice guy Jimmy Fallon, and wacko “last placer” Jimmy Kimmel. Greg built his show from scratch, and did a great job in doing so. @FoxNews— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 5, 2020
“Well, I can’t speak for Seth. He’s very talented, but I’m an idiot, and the only reason I have a job is because I married the daughter of Donald CBS, and for some reason, he keeps putting me in charge of everything.” — STEPHEN COLBERT“It’s nice to know that Trump is staying laser-focused on the ball during a crisis.” — STEPHEN COLBERT“‘Wacko last placer.’ I hope he wasn’t talking about me. I think maybe this was another typo situation. I think what he meant to tweet was, ‘I am completely devastated by the loss of life caused by this insidious virus. My thoughts are with the families of those who have passed. I pledge to spend every waking moment working to make sure our medical workers have the support they need and every American has access to tests. p.s. Congrats to Greg Gutfeld!’ That’s better, right?” — JIMMY KIMMEL“He does seem to be familiar with all the late-night shows. I’ve heard that if you snort enough Adderall, you can watch four of them at once.” — JIMMY KIMMEL‘Live and Let Die’Trump also visited a Honeywell mask factory on Tuesday, where he declined to wear a mask despite signs on the walls asking everyone to do so. “No, he did not. And I love that they didn’t turn the volume on the Guns N’ Roses down even one notch for the president. I can think of no better metaphor for this presidency than Donald Trump not wearing a face mask to a face mask factory while the song ‘Live and Let Die’ blares in the background.’” — JIMMY KIMMEL“Well, of course you wouldn’t want to wear a mask somewhere stupid like a hospital. [as Trump] I’ll only wear a mask if it’s a mask facility, same way I only eat cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory, and I only take a bath at Bed Bath & Beyond.’” — STEPHEN COLBERTThe Punchiest Punchlines (Cinco de Mayo Edition)“Today is also Cinco de Mayo. And if you’re trying to celebrate at home, here’s your quarantine Cinco de Mayo tip of the day: Any bread can be a tortilla if you use a hammer.” — TREVOR NOAH“So have fun celebrating Cinco de Mayo today, but don’t forget: You may be at home, but guac is still extra.” — TREVOR NOAH“Happy most boring Cinco de Mayo ever. Tú usted. I don’t know about you, but it don’t feel like a Cinco de Mayo to me unless I’m in a Tecate tank top getting thrown out of a Senor Frog’s.” — JIMMY KIMMEL“Cinco de Mayo is really handy this year, because it’s the first time I’ve been sure of the date in two months. Thanks to Cinco de Mayo, I know it’s the cinco of Mayo.” — STEPHEN COLBERT“But this tweet I posted last Cinco de Mayo has not aged well: ‘Happy Cinco de Mayo 2019! I can’t wait to go to a crowded bar and get some Corona in me!’” — STEPHEN COLBERTThe Bits Worth WatchingJimmy Fallon dedicated a new song to educators for Teacher Appreciation Day and Week. What We’re Excited About on Wednesday NightRobert DeNiro will prove he knows how to use video chat when he’s a guest on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Wednesday. Also, Check This OutBeanie Feldstein, star of “How to Build a Girl,” shares her love of “Gilmore Girls,” Stephen Sondheim musicals and Linda, the Bra Lady, in this week’s My Ten. What’s on TV Wednesday: ‘Becoming’ and ‘Brockmire’

What’s StreamingBECOMING (2020) Stream on Netflix. Until now, the films produced by Michelle and Barack Obama’s entertainment company, Higher Ground Productions, have not been about either of the Obamas themselves. “American Factory” (2019) looked at what happened after a closed General Motors factory in Ohio was taken over by a Chinese company, while the more recent “Crip Camp” centered on disability rights activism. But Michelle Obama steps in front of the lens in “Becoming,” a documentary from the Obamas’ company that revolves around the former first lady and her memoir of the same name. The film follows Obama on a nationwide tour to promote the memoir. Directed by Nadia Hallgren, a documentary filmmaker from the Bronx, the film has been advertised less as an adaptation of the book and more of a companion piece looking at Obama’s life after leaving the White House. “So little of who I am happened in those eight years,” she says in a trailer. “So much more of who I was happened before.”UPLOAD Stream on Amazon. The “Parks and Recreation” co-creator Greg Daniels takes a stab at the hereafter in “Upload,” a dark, class-conscious comedy series about a socially stratified digital afterlife. The show, created by Daniels, begins with death: A young man, Nathan (Robbie Amell), is critically injured when his self-driving car crashes. Bankrolled by his wealthy girlfriend (Allegra Edwards), he gets uploaded into a cushy virtual afterlife, complete with in-app purchases. Things get complicated (well, more complicated) when he gets close with Nora (Andy Allo), a customer service representative for a company that manages the afterlife. “Part of the impulse here is to kind of do a genre mash-up,” Daniels said in a recent interview with The New York Times, “to have satire but also to have romance and the mystery.”TRYING Stream on Apple TV Plus. “I know it sounds bad,” Nikki (Esther Smith) says to her boyfriend, Jason (Rafe Spall), in the first episode of this British comedy series. “But do you think they’d feel like someone else’s child?” The couple are having a conversation about adoption. “I think they probably would at first, yeah,” Jason responds. “But I think you know, you would, you’d wear them in. Like trainers.” That exchange — and the funny and earnest notes on display in it — neatly encapsulates the tone of the series at large. The show follows the couple as they navigate adopting a child. What’s on TVBROCKMIRE 10 p.m. on IFC. Jim Brockmire, the foul-mouthed baseball announcer played by Hank Azaria in this satirical series, spent the show’s first season trying to resuscitate his derailed career by working minor-league games. By the third season, he was calling for the major leagues again. The current, fourth season has pushed the action into a dystopian future, with Brockmire appointed Major League Baseball’s commissioner as the world is ravaged by epidemic and conflict. Wednesday night’s series finale will determine the staying power of his redemption. More

Mira Sorvino Fears Mistress Character on 'Hollywood' Linked Her Back to Harvey Weinstein

    WENN

During a recent SAG Foundation Conversations at Home interview, the Oscar winner talks about the main differences between what happens to her Jeanne Crandall character and herself in real life.
    May 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Mira Sorvino feared fans and critics would dwell on her relationship with Harvey Weinstein when they saw her playing a studio head’s mistress in new period TV series “Hollywood”.
The Oscar winner was at the forefront of allegations surrounding Weinstein’s predatory behavior and sexual misconduct, which eventually landed the disgraced movie mogul behind bars, and she was worried many people would link her latest character to the scandal.
But she hopes that critics can appreciate her character, Jeanne Crandall, is a woman from a certain era and her relationship with Rob Reiner’s Ace Amberg was consensual, unlike the one she had with Harvey, whom she maintains blacklisted her in Hollywood when she turned down his advances.
“There were these studio girls who were on 18-month contracts with all the studios and essentially passed along from executive to executive,” she says in a recent SAG Foundation Conversations at Home interview. “They were never really intended to become break-outs. They were there as the kind of in-house… fresh girls. They would be dated, used up and their contracts would be dropped and onto the next. It was really a cruel and unfair system.”
“In this story when we get to the part where she’s (my character) having an affair with the studio head, Ace Amberg, and that she has been for 10 years; we see her as a creature of her time. When I saw the scene I thought, ‘Oh no, are people going to think that this character was me,’ because of my role with the whole #MeToo movement and the fact that I steadfastly rejected Harvey Weinstein’s advances and then was punished for it by being blacklisted.”
“Where I refused to sleep with the studio head, she (Crandall) willingly is in a consensual relationship with the studio head. Although her relationship, I do believe, contained affection and I don’t think the studio head was predatory in a frightening way, I would say that Rob Reiner’s character is exercising his right as the king to have any of the court ladies at his behest.”
When it came to shooting one hot and heavy scene with Rob, Mira was offered an intimacy co-ordinator to make sure every movement was choreographed and there was as little discomfort as possible.
“I was kind of terrified of the scene where he shows her this affection and when we got to the scene and actually shot it, Rob was also I think quite nervous about it,” she explains. “They took the curse off of it with an intimacy co-ordinator and I’ve never worked with one in my entire career. I have done countless sex scenes; I can’t even count how many I’ve done and there was never someone choreographing them or making us feel comfortable.”
“Having this gentleman on set was really helpful and took away the awkward fears and violating in any sense. It was totally above board and even offered us padding even when we were fully clothed so nothing was pressed against anything when we pressed against each other… We ended up having so much fun it was like a Monty Python sex scene.”

“So ultimately, when I thought is it gonna be lurid or will people say that’s Mira with Harvey when absolutely it’s the opposite, none of that came to pass and I felt really good about it in the end.”

Cynthia Bailey Denies Getting Fired From 'RHOA': 'That Is Completely False'

    Bravo TV

Prior to this, it was said that the Bravo honchos decided to fire Cynthia and fellow ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Eva Marcille because their ‘storylines were the weakest.’
    May 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Cynthia Bailey is not going anywhere. “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star sets the record straight after it was rumored that she was axed from the popular Bravo reality show.
She reveals to The Shade Room that she has no plan to leave the franchise. “I have no plans to leave ‘RHOA’ at this time. Every year there are rumors saying that I am getting fired, or not returning,” she explains. “I’ve been a peach holder consistently for 10 years now. I love my cast, and my Bravo family.”
The TV star also hints that she most likely will be appearing in the upcoming season 13, saying, “I am looking forward to next season.”
Addressing the reports that she is being offered a “reduced role” by the CEO of the production company, Cynthia insists “that is completely false.” She continues, “We just recently filmed the reunion, and have not started contract negotiations yet.”

Prior to this, it was said that the Bravo honchos decided to fire Cynthia and fellow “RHOA” star Eva Marcille. “Cynthia and Eva’s storylines were the weakest. We knew there was going to be a change going forward, bring in new Housewives and get rid of [some] old ones,” an executive claimed. The insider noted that “it’s important to constantly refresh the cast with new blood.”
Additionally, the source debunked rumors about NeNe Leakes leaving the show. “No Nene is not getting fired. She’s the best part of the show,” said the informant.
When asked about when the show would officially fire Eva and Cynthia, the source explained, “They’ll be notified the final decision after the reunion show airs, until then, they have no idea that they’re [likely] out of a job.” Despite that, the executive hinted at the “slight” possibility that the show would keep one or both of them on the show, especially if the Coronavirus quarantine continues.

    Instagram

In the video, Tyra advises contestant Danielle Evans to close the gap in her front teeth, saying, ‘Do you really think you can a have a covergirl contract with a gap in your mouth?’
    May 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tyra Banks has some explaining to do. The former “America’s Next Top Model” host and judge is under fire after an old clip from season six of the reality competition show resurfaces online, featuring her alleged problematic behavior.
The clip was brought to attention by Twitter user @OladapoAisha, who posted it on her account on Tuesday, May 5. In the video, Tyra advised contestant Danielle Evans to close the gap in her front teeth.
“So, Danielle, you went to the dentist, but you refused to have your gap closed. Do you really think you can a have a covergirl contract with a gap in your mouth?” Tyra said, to which Danielle optimistically responded, “Yes. Why not?”
While pointing at her own teeth, Tyra explained, “This is all people see. It’s easy, breezy, beautiful covergirl. It’s not marketable.” Danielle then said, “Just a little bit is okay, but I don’t wanna completely close it.”
Judge and runway coach J. Alexander chimed in, “Well, I guess she just left the gap wide open for another girl, baby.” Despite that, Danielle ended up winning the season.

“Why was this allowed to air wtf Tyra banks is going to straight hell,” Oladapo captioned the footage, which quickly set the tongues wagging.
